This belongs in the Bodybuilding forum since Matt is bodybuilding now and wants to get a pro-card. If he succeeds this will be amazing, as I can only think of two other elite powerlifters (Efferding and Jackson) that have done that. Matt is extremely talented nad I wish him success in this endeavour.
THat being said, I read up his report on Elite and saw the comparison vid - he needs to bring up his legs, ALOT, in order to do more damage. Also, better conditioning (esp in legs). His back and Arms have gottten HYYYUGEE in the last year - he just decimates everyone else in that area.

he literally spends an entire post talking about how hes not competing again until his legs are brought up… and no this can be in this forum hes still lifting heavy ass weight, using chains and was an elite powerlifter so i thought the POWERLIFTING forum might enjoy it more

He had a quad tear didn’t he? Oftentimes those things really f up your ability to add size and/or he was just cursed with comparatively poor genetics for thigh musculature. Just theorizing.
Sorry but no thanks!
Always have respect for Kroc. I honestly don’t like the way a lot bodybuilders look though.
Definitely wasn’t completely dried out/on point but awesome size, his most muscular in particular is just crazy. Based on this, I’d say he has a little way to go before IFBB pro status, but he has ton of size in most areas and I’d love for him to kill it even sooner because he’s just generally such a badass guy.
Umm…why the f would we want to watch an oily man in tights posing? If that’s your thing, that’s fine, but no thanks! LOL
^This. Kroc is awesome but I can’t take someone in a bodybuilding show serious. I strongly respect the training and diet these guys have to go through, but anything past that is just not for me lol.
this wasnt to stare at his oily body…it was to show a fucking beast of a man, taking a new direction and killing it. Thought you guys wouldnt hate so hard on a fellow powerlifter but i guess i was wrong. I think most of you are a bit jelly though
I think we can all assume that most powerlifters here are jealous of Matt Kroc. I mean,he’s Matt Kroc.

This is just a trend in general on T Nation.

Interesting theory.
I’ve followed his elite log off and on and was never really struck by his leg workouts. A lot of it looked like powerlifting stuff with higher rep ranges, like reverse band squats for sets of 10 with what I thought was a small amount of assistance.
I think once he gets on more bodybuilding specific routine his legs will blow up like the rest of him.

It was during a set of squats (545x10). Happened right at the end.

Ben White was a powerlifter before he became a pro bb as well. Was a bench only guy and pretty damn good.
