My elbows and shoulder hurt me- plenty, knees are rock solid.
have you tried the curricumen 500? I use a generic its pretty good

Kevin,

Yes, I’ve taken curcumin. Doesn’t even come close to ibuprofen for me. OTOH, the ciccus does seem to reduce pain, but I don’t know whether it might be causing other problems, so I’m not taking it for a while.

Good work Math. I try and avoid the Ibu as well, unless I really, really need it. What I really like for the aches is a super hot hot tub.

For me, if I really need ibuprofen that means I shouldn’t be doing whatever made me hurt in the first place for a while. Not trying to tell anyone else what they should do, but I’ve gone down that road before, and ended up limping back as a broken shell of my former glorious self. (Maybe that’s a slight exaggeration, especially the “former glorious self” part.)

As for the hot tub, I think it should be populated with 2-3 winsome, twenty-somethings from the Sweedish bikini team to help boost testosterone levels. Yep, beats ibuprofen all to hell and back.

Race to Salina: 152 miles to go.

hot tubs, bikinis, aren’t you forgetting something?..the Porter!! But I do like the thinkin’…

stretching, foam, YTWL, reverse hypers

Zerchers 45/10 95/5 135/5

back squat 135/5 155/5 175/5 195/5 135/20 oy vey, my head!

1 leg leg extension 25/10 35/10 45/10
Romanian DL 120/10 140/10 160/10
1 leg calf raise 40/10 50/10 60/10
plank 30s/30s/30s

At about rep 17 on the last set of squat, my head started throbbing. I had to sit down for 5-10 minutes. Gawd, am I out of shape! Pathetic!

“Short term” goal is to get to 50 reps of 135 for squats and deads, and 50 for bench and bent row at somewhere between 100 and 120. The way things went tonight, short looks like a very relative thing.

Great work, Math. 20 reps squats are very tough.

All at once? That’s a lot of reps. Easier ways to do cardio.

20 reps squats hurt like a bitch. I like the zercher squats you’ve been doing. A gret addition to any workout.

Bench 45/10 95/5 135/5 155/5 175/5 120/20
one arm DB row 40/10 50/5 70/5 80/5 95/5 65/20 each side

flye press 2x40/10 2x50/10 2x60/6
Yates row 135/5 155/5/5

DB pullover 70/8/8/8
ab roll 0/10/10/10

EZ bar curl 35/10 55/5 65/5
rolling triceps extension 2x30/5/5/5

Still taking it pretty easy. Arm’s ok. The 20 rep bench and rows don’t kick my ass nearly as much as the squats. I’m doing these high rep sets at about 70% of current training max.

Eco, Hel, and Jack - thanks for stopping by. I haven’t had much time to check out other folk’s threads lately, especially since I can’t access T-Nation at work any more (it’s listed as an “adult site”). I also can’t access at least some sites with a military affiliation. Tried to look into a company that makes fuel cells (something our equipment might be used to test), but that site was blocked. Go figure…

Nice work, math. Glad to hear that the elbow is holding up. Hopefully it continues.

Don’t you have a procedure for requesting that sites be unblocked? I would think that work related sites could be put on the whitelist.

Proceedures? We don’t have no steenkin’ proceedures! And why should I go to extra effort to drum up business for a company that’s making it harder for me to do my job? This is one of the side effects of this type of policy. It engenders suspicion and resentement.

Went out drinking last night. Felt like crap most of the day. Finally got myself into my “gym”. Then surprised myself with a couple of PRs. Whoodathunkit?

Almost forgot…

  • Head started hurting again at 15 so I stopped. Tried again with the bar lower on my back and made 20 without any head pain. I must have been pinching a nerve or blood vessel or something. Gotta remember to keep the bar lower in the future.

math, I calculate your latest workouts to be: awesome. Good work, buddy!

Thanks, Steely! You had me at “calculate”

Lookin’ strong, Math. I like the high-rep finisher. It builds character.
