Glad the elbow is better, the new program should be fun.

So, I’ve been meaning to ask, where is Salina and why would anyone want to race there?

It’s in Kansas and I was wondering the same thing.
This coming form someone in OK.

Based on a Stephen King short story about a guy, a painting, and an exercise bike, Soldog and I decided on a virtual race to the approximate halfway point between our respective locations, which turned out to be around Salina.

Great PRs, math! Must be rep PRs, because you made that look way to easy to be weight PRs…grimacing aside

Thanks, Strick.

Here is the vid of the box squat.

Edit: Ok, for some reason it didn’t upload. Not that impressive anyway.

EditEdit: So NOW it shows up.

Good work, I like the pin squats.

Good work. Just out of being a stickler, I would say make a sturdier box to squat to. Enough so that you can ‘sit’ on it, not just touch it. Some say nay, but overall I think box squats when ‘sitting back’ have great overall benefit. Not just for gearwhores.

Race to Salina: 176 to go (6 miles on the bike this morning)

Bent Row 100/5 120/5 140/5 160/5 180/5 190/5

Wide grip pullup (w/straps) 2/2/2

Okay, I’m going back to a 3-way split.

JJ - thanks. I like the pins too.

Pete - I could build an 18.5" box, an 18" box, 17.75", etc. I’m turning into a PR whore! Any recommendations on building a box?

what’s the split gonna look like?

Svend Press? Something new to lookup.

Does your wife know about this Salina woman? She must be hot with all this work you’ve been doing to get to her. Instead of a box I pile several cement blocks that are 2’’ thick to the desired height. Not as stable as a box but I haven’t killed myself yet.

Great vid. Noticed your db incline bench. Those are some high reps, more so than the rest of your lifts. Any reason why?

Back to square one. Elbow is killing me again. I lifted on Sunday. No problem, or indication of a problem. No problem all day Monday until late after noon. Then forearm and elbow started bothering me. It’s been very painful all day today. I don’t like this crap at all!

Plus, I’m shut off from T-Nation at work again. It’s classified as an “adult content” website.

Eco, don’t tell the wife about the Salina thing.

Hel, I just started way too light, and repped out on those suckers.

Sucks about the elbow. They are funny that way. I am just starting to get used to having them hurt all the time.

I can sympathize, somewhat. My elbows had finally quit hurting, then I put together that damnable trampoline. Now both are hurting. Even hurts to pick up my littlest one.
I hope you have a speedy recovery!

Race to Salina: 165 miles to go (did 5 on the bike yesterday, and 6 tonight)

Arm is a little better today with the help of ibuprofen. I think it’s a tendon or tendon insertion on the distal/lateral side of the elbow. There also was a lot of soreness in the muscles or tendons in the middle of the top of the forearm (compartment syndrome?). Anyway, it’s related to grip. Grasping something heavy or pulling up something heavy (like me) makes it hurt. I don’t know if it’s directly related to lifting, or has to do with something else, or a combination. I have been taking cissus quadrangularis. This is supposed to help with tendon issues. It also is supposed to have a mild analgesic effect. Regardless, I stopped taking if for now. I’ll come back to lifting more slowly and carefully this time. It’ll probably be a few more days, then I’ll start with squats which minimizes grip.

Race to Salina: 156 to go. (7 on the bike yesterday, 2 on the TM this morning. Anything over about 4 miles on the bike, and “the boys” start going to sleep. Most disconcerting.)

DL (from stands) 45/10 95/10
DL (from floor) 135/5 155/5 175/5 195/5 215/5 135/20 (last set got me huffing like crazy.)

overhead press 45/10 65/10 85/5 95/5
1 arm DB row 40/10 60/10 80/6/6
1 leg calf raise 0/10 20/10 40/10 60/10

DB bench 2x50/10/10/10
DB upright row 2x50/6/6/6
step up 0/10ea/10ea/10ea
ab roll 0/8/8/8

Steely - I used to take ibuprofen like candy back when I was running ultras. Now I can’t run at all. Didn’t do me any favors then, so now I only take it when something hurts enough that I have trouble sleeping. It can cause ulcers, especially if you take it without food. I’ve also read that it can interfere with muscle hypertrophy. You would seem to be the expection to that rule.

Nice work Math… 135 x20 that is great
nice volume.

My elbows and shoulder hurt me- plenty, knees are rock solid.
have you tried the curricumen 500? I use a generic its pretty good
