Few make that transition successfully though. Off the top of my head I’ve got Shane Hamman and James Tatum. Koklyaev maybe, but I think he started in weightlifting and then just kind of did whatever was fun.

Yes I know. Very few make the transition.

It’s one thing for a coach to say but to get a top/ high level PL to spend 100’s and 1000’s of hours weightlifting is another thing.

I saw an interview with Travis Mash where he said he did an all out Westside style program. If i remember correctly he said he got strong as hell, but just got beat up doing it. Here’s a video of some of it.

Chad Vaughn was a powerlifter who converted to weightlifting and was very successful.

I didn’t know that. Actually, isn’t that American 69 whose name I can’t remember a former powerlifter as well? Caleb Williams?

There’s probably a comment to be made in there somewhere about a lack of depth in American weightlifting or American weightlifters being weak or some damn thing . . .
