Agreed. Dex has that almost superhero comic book physique. He is what a bodybuilder should look like.

Not sure if you’re being serious, but I agree. After looking at all of the pictures last night, I thought Heath looked better than anyone there.

They have to follow the IFBB pecking order… He can’t win till after the next olympia… Or two.
Imo Dex is better proportioned overall, heath’s arms overshadow the rest somewhat. Sure the two are damned close, but Dex is just perfectly proportioned/balanced (minus calves…).
Anyway, doesn’t really matter now, does it?
But Cutler should have been bumped down to 5th or so (if even)…

That’s what I was thinking. The guy is mind blowing, has incredible stage presence and is the perfect blend of shape, size, density and muscle separation and he was ripped as well.
I had him first, Dexter second, Jay third, Tony fourth and Wolf (of whom I am a big fan but he was just not on this time) fifth.
Dexter deserves it though, no doubt about it but if Heath continues this there ain’t no stopping him. Cutler is not going to repeat an O victory and Martinez might have just lost his momentum as well.
Prediction for next year anyone?
How about:
1:Heath
2:Dexter
3:Martinez
4:Wolf
5:Freeman
6:Cutler

You know, I look at victor martinez and all I see is a Cutler with somewhat better lines and shape, but still quite a bit of distension… And his triceps are a little short, if I remember correctly. Just not someone who I’d pick over Dex or Heath, really.
He beats Cutler big time, though.
I’d like to see Freeman a as number 4…

I like Heath for next year. I think it’s going to be a real fight. Should be interesting for a while now.

Reminds me a bit of Flex Wheeler.
Hopefully we’ll see Brandon Curry in it next year and we’ll see what he’s capable of…
I really like this. Things are getting very interesting now.
I have no idea (at this point) who could take next year’s title. It’s gonna be great.

lol as amazing at this pic is i think wolf has the best most muscular.
Sorry for the hijack, but can someone tell me why bodybuilding switched from the boxer-briefs they wore in Arnold’s day to the tiny, sub-speedo things they wear now? Looks gay and might be an impediment to wider popularity. Flame away.

There’s nothing to flame. I agree, but the 90’s put a solid end to that the moment “ripped glute muscles and hamstrings” became the major thing to show off. That has died down some, but I doubt things will go back to the way they were then.
It is as simple as some new bodybuilder having some outstanding body part and everyone following suit behind them…like Platz’s legs.
Someone made it so ripped glutes meant you were dialed in so now everyone does the same.
Mind you, they were no where near as ripped during Arnold’s day as they are now. Arnold would NEVER win a show today because his conditioning would be off.
I personally feel they need to move away from the EXTREME dry look, but I doubt it is going anywhere either.
I’m REALLY looking forward to seeing the rivalry between Wolf and Heath develop.
Looks like the Olympia is finally worth paying attention to again.

I agree. It’s getting to that look that puts the men and women in danger because dialing in like that has very little to do with bodybuilding and everything to do with ‘chemical’ knowledge. It is for that part they need to hire a specialist to help them. Shouldn’t be that way.
But you are right, it is probably not going anywhere.
Prof, you are a big fan of Heath, did you have him before Dexter (whom you admire as well, I know)?
How did you call the top 6?

His Arms (esp. Tris) SUCK during most musculars… Rühl had the same issue, though much worse.

I think if they were no names, then yes, Heath should have won the show…but Dex has been at this for YEARS and looked over because of his height (an the fact that he isn’t 260+lbs). He deserved it and he damn sure came into the show prepared to take it.
I have no problem with the turn out other than the fact that Jay came before Freeman. Cutler should have been 5th or 6th.

I agree with Freeman’s and Cutler’s placings being idiotic…
What does Heath have that Dex doesn’t, in your opinion?

More interesting arm development and the ability to get even better considering he just started.
