Littlelee Lifting And Sleeping Log

Pauses where you’re weak are always good choices. For Deadlift, deficit deads or snatch grip deads to help break it off the floor. They both require you to drop even lower to start the lift.

Also, ThibArmy has a Deadlift series with help for various sticking points. Best Exercise Variations The Deadlift Weak Off the Floor. There might even be help for the other two lifts.

Thanks @ChickenLittle and @Frank_C

Have you ever woken up in the morning, and everyone else in your household is in a grumpy foul mood, and they take it out on you? Great start to the day. One of my major flaws is being so empathetic that I am deeply impacted by other people’s moods, and when that mood is bad…guess how I feel?

Yeah, totally me. I actually took a class,

in an attempt to be less influenced by the shitty energy around me.

It was helpful, but not worth the price. Meditation with imagery is pretty helpful - imagine yourself bathed in a golden aura that is impenetrable by negative energy and meditate on that for a few.

Or, get stoned.

I like plan B.

Unfortunately, I think a lot of people take that route via prescription meds these days.

Sometimes your posts just surprise me! Great advice… does playing Dr.Mario on old nintendo count as meditation? Lol…
As for Plan B- I am a mess when I smoke pot, so not the best plan!

It’s gonna be legal here in 2 months. No prescription needed.

With all the other crap going on these days I wouldn’t bother charging you with possession if I caught you.

I only enforce it when the person is a regular offender and need special attention. I stopped a young girl once and smelled it. She was nice, valid license, no criminal history.

I asked her how much she had and where it was. She pulled a roach out of the ash tray and tried to give it me. I said “I don’t want it. Get rid of it. And don’t smoke and drive. It’s just as dangerous as driving drunk.” I was laughing and smiling while saying it. I think I surprised her. I could’ve arrested her.

If I thought she was dangerous behind the wheel then I would have pursued it, but people smoking a little pot is very low on the priority list these days.

Lol, me too. Most people don’t realize what a freak I am.

With respect to plan B, I can’t handle current strains of weed. I’ve been using CBD oil to take a bit of the edge off of my anxiety - it’s legal, has no psychoactive ingredients. But, I’ve learned that with the advent of all of the medical marijuana, there are many different strains and concentrations available on the market. For example, they make vaping oil in a 20-1 ratio of CBD-THC (not very strong). If you get the right strain, one that increases alertness without gettting you baked, I think that would be cool as shit.

I think I might have to work on getting a medical marijuana card for NY.

nintendo 64  007 Goldeneye, marioparty, star fox, the legend of zelda, banjo kazooie The good stuff!!

I bet she was relieved. I tgink the main issue is driving while high, because it’s going to be legal I think there is all types of stuff to worry about. I don’t have the tolerance to smoke and drive, and I worry about teenagers. Also, smoking before work might become common, and most people wouldn’t drink and go to work. Lastly, at my psych job, making it legal is going to cause some difficulties, it is legally mandated that most forensic patients abstain, with it being legalized, and the negative impact on mental health, it’s gonna be a shitshow!

The amount of product availible here already, in both smoke and edible form is crazy. I guess if you can find a strain compatible with what you want the smoke to do, that is a good thing. I have never done any pot that makes me feel good.

But we are uber cool parents- we told my 18 year old that if she decides to smoke/eat edibles, then to come to us and we will get it for her. It is highly worrying right now about the fentnyl crisis, people have died from touching people who have used it. I worry if she gets pot of the street she will get a strain with something hazardous in it! Rather be safe then sorry.

They released the old nontendo 64 with all the games on it, then a friend downloaded the original nintendo games, so we have hundreds of original and 64 games. Dr.Mario and Super Mario 1,2,3 are my crack!

I still have the original NES with Duck Hunt gun.

Omg! That is awesome!!! I remember when it first came out. I wanted it sooooo bad. One day I came home from school for lunch, and my dad was sitting in front of the tv playing the new nintendo he bought me for Christmas. I played hooky from school that afternoon, and me and my dad played for hours. One of my best memories of my dad…I love Nintendo!

I had the original NES with Duck Hunt, and Super Mario 1,2,3. Wow, great times.
I’ve just discovered the NES emulator on Android and it has the original games, plus more, my son is loving it too.

As for weed, you guys are lucky it’s being legalised, here in South Australia ours laws used to be very relaxed, just a caution for possession and small fine for growing, however, now being the nanny state everything has gone backwards.

Great times for sure! My kids think it’s too old school, they don’t play very often (it’s ok, more for me)
I thought Australia was progressive like Canada…I always thought of it as Canada’s much warmer sister! It’s too bad about the weed. It is a very polarizing subject.

I forgot how hard hospice nursing can be.

It was my last orientation shift last night, and I had to inform a family that they may wish to stay overnight if they wanted to be with their mother if she died.

There really is no comforting way to say this to a family who are already stressed and upset about the changing level of conciousness of their loved one.

We are always asked “when do you think it will happen?”. Of course, the nurse can never know for sure. The general rule: if a patient is having significant changes from baseline occuring over weeks, they have weeks to go. If the changes are happening over days, generally there are days.

My patient last night was making significant changes over hours. I hope I made the right choice in asking them to stay. I know how important it is for family members to be there.

The family was crying and very upset when I left. That is really hard. I hope by asking them to stay, I didn’t cause a situation where the family is standing vigil for days or weeks. That is even more stressful and exhausting.

It’s been on my mind. I definitely carry hospice nursing home more then my psych job. Hopefully, I made a good decision.

These types of decision are tough ones. You can’t dwell on whether you were right or wrong about when the woman will pass (like you said, it is impossible to know for sure), you just have to be confident in WHY you made that decision. Due diligence. Her baseline was changing by the hour and therefore you made the informed decision to ask them to stay based on the information at hand. Should you have told them to leave and their mother passed, you could have been questioned about your decision since the information present suggested a quick passing.

But I can absolutely see how this type of work would be carried home into your personal life. Just do your best, and try to shake it off at the end of the day!

Thank you @littlesleeper- This was my dillema, if I hadn’t said anything despite seeing the signs that indicate a change, I may have denied the family being there.
I also generally follow my instincts, and sadly have some type of “death” radar (I was hugging my dad when he took his last breaths because I “just knew”.)
Maybe it will just take some time to learn my own coping in dealing with the grief of others. I feel “out of practice”. Then again, I hope my heart never hardens to the suffering of others. While I may carry it with me, I feel it has made me a better person while helping others.
What do you do for work? Great insight.

You sound like you are in the right place.
The day my dad past, the first nurse was very good in sharing his experience and comforting us. The young nurse that came after him was fresh out of school and kind of froze when my dad past.

Life is like that, you can’t control every thing.
