Is that a PR?
Hell No- 4.5 hours is the number to beat
R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
Honestly, thatās totally in my wheelhouse. The other day I took a 3.5 hour nap, got up for an hour to eat, then went to bed for the night and racked up another eight.
Sleep, It does a body good.
Impressive!! Sleep is awesome! I donāt care that people think I am lazy, I like sleep. You will have to let me know if you beat my PR!!
Look out, Iām about to up my sleeping game!..i have a feeling there will be an adjustment periodā¦
Oh, the darth vader!!!bet your wife will find it very romantic!
Hope it improves your sleep! My hubby uses one, mixed reviews!
Haha, if I can be in a better mood with better sleep Iām sure she will be on board! Mixed reviews from you on the machine? Or from your husband? Interested to hear about others experiences. I had a terrible week of sleep, so I just got fed up and decided it was worth a try.
My hubby says he sleeps better, and in general feels better rested, but he often complains about the tubing which is uncomfortable when sleeping. Also, the nose prongs are very uncomfortable, I think he prefers the nose peice that covers the nose. Keeping the thing humidified is important. I see that you have not had a sleep study yet? Be careful because each machine is calibrated for the individual, dependent on the pressure you need. My hubby had pretty bad sleep apnea and needed the pressure changed a few times before he felt comfortable with it.
I have one, was never able to get it right. When I did, I felt like Superman. Itās worth making a commitment to, in my opinion. I went from the CPAP to a dental appliance, then finally gave up.
I guess that makes me not natty in the sleep game.
Iām hopeful. But am definitely expecting the discomfort to bother me more than help me for a bit. It did come with the over nose piece, so thatās good. I just figured out all the humidifying settings.
Is it bad if it is not calibrated perfectly for someone? I was reading some mixed opinions on that, and some people saying you can basically go by feel to what is most comfortable and see success with it.
This is what Iām after!!!
Ya, Iāll give it a solid effort. I still plan on going through with the sleep study, I just got impatient and figured Iād try my luck.
I am not sure about harming you, if the calibration is off, but the pressure/flow will impact your sleep if itās not right, so donāt expect miracles right off. I would guess it might take you a week or two to adjust to it. Start low. What are your sleeping issues (snoring, waking, apnea?)
I tried one after a sleep study but couldnāt adapt to it. I tried different nose and mouth pieces. Mine was fancy and connected to Wi-Fi. I could call the office and they could adjust it immediately. I had it set to ramp up the air flow as I started to fall asleep. It also sensed my breathing and backed off the pressure when I was exhaling.
Unfortunately, it would always wake me up when it kicked in to high gear. It felt like someone stuck the air compressor hose in my mouth. Iād take it off and try to get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep.
Too bad I couldnāt deal with it but my apnea is only moderate when Iām on my back. My solution is to roll over so Iām not in my back.
Given my attempts at beating my napping prās + all the sleep talk going on in here, I aptly changed my log name ![]()
I wake several times through the night, and rarely feel truly rested. It might be a bit of a long shot going out on my own to try this, but it was an affordable attempt. I wore it for about half an hour laying in bed last night and a few times I actually got out of breath from it. It will take a bit of time adjusting to the back pressure when exhaling.
Ya, this one has the ramp feature and also reduced back pressure when exhaling, but it is still enough to require some adaptation.
Iāll give it a solid effort and see what happens, Iām still hopeful!
love the new title ![]()
We have a littlesleeperā¦maybe a, dare I say it, āLittleleeās BigSleeper Logā heh heh heh
Haha, Iāve been bested!
Thereās only room for one Little Canadian on TNation. Squinty eyes: doodle-dooooo
You guys make me laugh!
*seriously considers changing log title again
@little sleeper - my hubby had the same problem- if I recall just using the machine changed that feeling considerably ie: cpap adaption.
@Despade- great name!
That man has a knack for log names, he named mine!
