Damn 1 hour! If I stay on it for 2 minutes, I call it a successful session
@theonecamko- itās very kind of you! Glad you are not āone of those guysā. I didnāt think an hour was long for rolling?
@Frank_C- yes, it definitley hurt more today!
@muskratlifts -WIMP!
If you actually do everything then it can take awhile. I spent 45 minutes to an hour on it last weekend. I did calves, hamstrings, quads, IT band, adductors, glutes, low back, shoulder girdle, pecs, and neck.
Congrats on the PR!
Usually I do like 10min before/after training, most ive done is probably 30min on conditioning days. Not saying an hour is bad, I would just get bored haha
@Frank_C - That is what I did, pretty much everything, except pecs, I am a girl.
@ChickenLittle - thank you!
@theonecamko - I donāt find rolling boring, but I can see how some people can!
Not that the rolling helped, I have major chest Domās today! Donāt know whats worse chest or leg Domās!
Use a lacrosse ball to roll out your pecs, can work around the boobs.
Ouch! That sounds incredibly painful!
4 hours, 45 minutes - NAP PR!
Got hired at the hospice- now I have 2 jobs, and really hoping they donāt interfere with my lifting too much!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Iām not much of a bencher myself. However, I find the best way to push mine up at all is to bench more. For me itās the easiest lift with respect to recovery and volume works well.
Have you had anyone look at your technique? Fine tuning can make a huge difference.
Thank you for the advice, I have a friend who will be trying to help me out a bit in terms if technique/form, so I hope it helps.
SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF NIGHT SHIFT FATIGUE;
1.) Weird appetite ranging from starving to none at all
2.) Poor digestion
3.) Tired, tired, tired
4.) Overall body ache
5.) Moodiness, general ādonāt fuck with meā attitude
6.) Lack of energy
7.) Bloating, and weight gain
My 3 night shifts killed me. I am very grateful I have a massage today, but I did have to wake up early to go to it (so tired) and will most likely fall asleep half way through.
Going to see how I feel after massage, but I am pretty sure there is no workout in todays future!
Back at it tomorrow when I feel like a human being again.
Deadlift Day-Cycle Two-Week Three-5/3/1
Deadlift
1x5-135 lbs warm up
1x3-155 lbs warm up
1x5-175 lbs
1x3-185 lbs
1x8-195 lbs-Rep PR
I lifted the 135 lber and thought ā well fuck that feels heavyā, but then busted out some good numbers!
Good Mornings
1x10-bar
3x8- 95 lbs
Laying Weighted Leg Lifts
3x10-15 lbs
Felt like being quick today. Lots to do.
Am I allowed to do heavy singles on my deload week, or is that completely against protocol?
NEW SHORT TERM GOALS
DEADLIFTS -2x bodyweight= 240 lbs for reps
= + 30 lbs from current lift
SQUAT - 1.5x bodyweight= 180 lbs for reps
=+50 lbs from current lift
BENCH-1x bodyweight= 120 lbs for reps
+35 lbs from current lift.
I think these are all very manageable, and gives me something short term to strive for. All based on current weight of 120 lbs, give or take.
Did the massage help? Iām due for one, I LOVE massages!
Massages are awesome, I always wish they were longer. Massage was great after 3 night shifts, I had a lot of lower back tightness.
I asked massage therapist if she thought foam rolling is helping with the constant tight muscles, she said āno, you are still pretty messed upā lolā¦guess I should be doing it more often!
Go get you a massage!
Yep, fastest hour of my life.
Haha, yeah, my massage therapist (she corrected me when I called her a masseuse) compared my hip flexors to guitar strings. I better do some of her recommended stretches before I go back.
Iām booked for this Thursday now! Canāt wait.
EDIT: On the note of being corrected, I was corrected in a meeting the other day when I referred to our Admin (Administrative Assistant) as a secretary. Jeez, I didnāt know people were so sensitive about their titles. Call me anything you like, just donāt call me late for dinner.
Enjoy that massage!!!
Yes, and people are very sensitive about. Maybe itās the masseuse + happy ending connotation that pisses them off???
Being french makes it easier to get away with calling the therapist āune masseuseā instead of āune massotherapisteā but not much
WOW! That is some serious lifting, so impressive! - and inspiring!
