I’ve been subscribed to you Ben for a while and I have to say you are a great ambassador for the sport. Not many powerlifters make youtube videos or are as approachable as yourself. And you give real answers. Just quality work.
I’d suggest anyone seeing this thread subscribe to his youtube channel, high quality videos with some clean heavy ass lifts, cant ask for much more than that. I dont mean to sound like an infomercial here haha, it would be great to see a raw powerlifter like Ben reach wide audiences which has to start with us more hardcore lifters supporting the cause

Peed
Lifting badass weights but being so soft spoken. That shit just isn’t right. haha
I agree with above posters though.
@Ben: I would love to hear a detailed discussion on squat and deadlift technique. Not a tutorial like you did some time ago on Youtube somewhere but more like:
- what different alterations you went through
- how they “felt” during the execution of the lift
- what never worked for you / what did work
- what mental cues worked / didn’t work
- how does a “perfect” squat/dead “feels” like when you are doing it or how do you know the technique is “right”
- etc.
Not sure if you understand what I’m getting at but I really miss in depth discussion on form that aren’t “just” a list of simple cues (chest up, etc.).
I greatly appreciate the support guys, I am honored and humbled by it =) and infinite shore I’m going to try to incorporate some of those topics into my upcoming videos this one is a start
Cool. Thanks a lot.
Perhaps next time you could elaborate a bit on what exactly you visualize/imagine when you think about the perfect execution.
Also it looks like your lower/middle back rounds a bit on heavy squat sets. Doesn’t this lead to a lot of muscle soreness on high volume days? Or has the muscle group adapted to this style over the years?
I will follow your channel regularly from now on. Good stuff.
Awesome stuff Ben, inspirational.
I really enjoy you sharing why you do things the way you do.
So keep it up.
Wow. Sorry i have no insightful comment, just wanted to say i’ll be supportin gyour videos.
Hi Ben. Stoked that you’re back to posting regularly. Thanks for putting in all the time and effort, it’s pretty inspirational!
I will echo what others have said in that I’m glad you are back posting here. The double pause deadlifts were unreal.
I loaded for Dan Kyser while he was warming up for deads at the RPS meet in Ohio a couple of weeks ago. His last warm up set was 565 and it went up like a speed pull. He ended up pulling 740 and totaling 1780 at 198 that day. You two are far and away the top raw pullers in the country at 198 and you both are humble guys who are a credit to the sport. Given where you both live I doubt it will happen anytime soon but I would love to see the two of you compete at the same meet.
I’m subscribed to your YouTube channel, I did Sheiko training for the whole of last year and it changed the way I view my workouts. When I listen to you speak about your training I can’t help but nod at everything you say, what really hit home for me doing Sheiko training was the idea of increasing your base strength. Many people are always trying to push their upper strength limits and in doing so end up neglecting their foundations.
This type of training made me constantly strive for the perfect rep every set and has awakened me to how much the body can actually handle in terms of volume.
Keep up the great lifting
Hey Ben,
Just watched your 17 min deadlift tutorial video.
I was watching your forward lunges, they seemed pretty uncomfortable, thought I would ask if you have done or considered doing reverse lunges instead. I find them much more ergonomic and hit the entire leg musculature better.
