When your dad moved from 198-242 (weighed around low 220s ) and his bench jumped so much everyone scratched their head as how he could do it.
Like father like son. Genetics are a marvelous thing.

I feel you man^. Its all good, I hope to compete though sometime soon, tryin to find ways in between track and what not. Its hard gaining weight to jump to the 242lb class. Iv been around 230-235 for bout 2 yrs now. Got any advise? I eat like a horse but jus cant seem to gain the weight. Might be all the running we do but still lol.
Eat even more.
Pacifico, I just read the article:
http://apse.dallasnews.com/contest/2002/writing/over250/over250.enterprise.fifth13.html
And I have to say two things:
It seems like they tried to make your father look like the “bad guy” - which is complete BS. Its funny how these writers who are so uniformed still think they can judge others. I can tell that the article was sketchy from this quote:
“With the horrible regime of maxing out with weight and taking creatine shakes, why can’t someone just call child protective services and stop all of this?”
Notice how it said in the article that the guy who said this quote (Jon Almquist, chairman of the Secondary School Committee of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association), “has never met the Pacificos”
So this chump had never even met you and he wants child services to be called? What the fuck?
It really pisses me off how the media always tries EVERY SINGLE TIME to make anyone who is somewhat dedicated to weightlifting look like a freak
Anyway, the point of this rant was to tell you and your father to keep chugging, and ignore the haters!!
PS - Update us on your progress! How is shot put going

I know an 18 year old who can deadlift 730 raw at a bodyweight in the 240’s. Bench 475 touch and go (raw). I forget the squat but it’s in the 600’s with knee wraps for reps. So anything is possible, and he does compete in powerlifting and has records. Has tons of vids on youtube. You never know! lol
i seen him to
Very strong kid, but watching his numbers fluctuate from competition to competition and having him lift in the only undrug tested federations that I know of, while his dad having tested positive for steroids before… it makes me wonder to say the least.
I would never take a ounce of respect away from him tho, there are many teenagers who have used steroids. Hes the only one putting up those numbers.
Seinix - Dude wanna kno whats BS about that whole thing? They came to us with the intention of doing an article of how my accomplishments were so great haha. They totally turned it around on us once we read the article. Stupid ass people, Ill make sure later on in life if that very same woman who did the article asks for another, just throw it back in her face haha.
Oh well, I was in 8th grade when that was done. But hey bro, thanks for the support! Shot is goin real well real early. I hope to go 61’ indoors and possibly 62-63’ outdoors. Working on the Hammer and its landing around 190-200’, not bad for only my 2nd year throwing it, but well see how things work out! Take Care!

Are you referring here to Larry ?
Larry’s last world title was in 1979 or 1980. he then tried a couple of come backs after getting his finger mashed, but had injuries, on the surgery to fix his pec or elbow, he had a heart attack and then had emergency surgery and I think a bi-pass, think he was 37 & do not think he lifted again.
Stopped following the sport in around 1984, but cannot remember him failing a drug test. Not saying that he never used I cannot say, and I know about his later problems.
if you are referring to Larry when did Larry fail a drug test,

Im talking about someone else, the father of the kid who deadlifts 730 raw at 18.
My father never failed a drug test, he simply was just in possession of them…he got community service thats why everyone jumps on my case about roids just cause my father took um. In the 70s there were no testing, everyone was doing them. Anyways, my father was in his 40s when he had his bi-pass.
