Makes sense! Yeah I think my bench press sucked the most, and frequency was definitely a factor. Surprisingly, I think my OHP was progressing better than my bench. Probably because I value shoulders a lot more for sport
Oh wow! Thanks CL!

73.95 kg this morning. Will maintain it here. Eyeballing is working great so far. No magic, I just ate less. Less rice, less sugary drinks, less snacks. Still eat what I want though, just…less.
Pull ups 8, 6, 6, 6, 6
Focused on increasing ROM and slowing the tempo a bit
OHP 35 lbs 10 x 3 sets
Side laterals
17.5 lbs x 12 ss 5 lbs x 15, 5 sets
Hip huggers 42.5 lbs x 12, 4 sets
Thinking of adding sidelaterals where hands are pronated all the way, much like a thumbs down sign. I was trying it a while ago and those felt like they were hitting my rear delts pretty good. We’ll see. Is there a name for that?
@j4gga2 any thoughts on doing lateral raises with thumbs pointing down? any anatomical disadvantages or injury risk? was planning to do them with really light weight. I feel the limit in ROM but I feel my rear delts pretty good actually
Currently doing them as a super set. 20 lbs Hammer curls + 5 lbs regular curls + 5 lbs lateral raise thumbs down
If you’re doing standing lateral raises, thumbs down is the way to go. That said, you don’t need much internal rotation, ~15-30° will suffice
I strongly recommend performing them in the scapular plane, which is basically halfway between a front raise and a “true” lateral raise
Was planning to do them 90 degrees for extra rear delt gains lol
Was gonna ask you about the scapular plane thing. I did them and immediately knew why lol. The ROM is just so much better.
Thanks!!

@theBeth thanks for the old spice recommendation! Found a sent I really like (aqua reef) and it’s aluminum free
Are you avoiding aluminum for the cancer risk?
This has nothing to do with your discussion, but it gave me a funny/ironic thought. Americans will do things like this - avoid a product that has aluminum due to the cancer risk - while eating at McDonald’s every day without batting an eye. Americans are great at majoring in the minors.
Well I’ll be honest, I heard of antiperspirants as a risk factor for breast cancer in women, so yeah, it adds to the reason (even though men are low risk for breast cancer). But the main reason is, arm pits were designed to sweat and they dissipate heat (and other toxins) effectively, so it doesn’t make sense to artificially stop that
I get ya. I have a guy friend who actually had breast cancer. Turns out he had the gene mutation form. I had breast cancer and it was hormone related. Either way I still use antiperspirant. Mostly because I don’t give a shit.
Man that sucks. I hope he’s doing okay
Sorry to hear that. Cancer is never easy to deal with. How has your journey been so far?
Lol! I get that too. The added risk if probably minimal. People here in colder climates sweat less too compares to the tropics. I just couldn’t care less about people seeing arm pit stains haha
Haha that’s actually true. America has so many options for the mundane things, it’s mind boggling. Also you forgot to mention smoking lol.
To be fair though, if it weren’t for them, we probably wouldn’t have some nice options available
According to my mom, this is one of the most impressive things about America.
I disagree- too many options = decision fatigue + higher probability for mistakes
