Recently caught up on this log, nice work. Especially on the squat progress. Have you been able to do any more training recently?
Hey thanks! Now you know you’re stronger in pullups and in general than the guy offering you unsolicited squat advice. LOL
I tried to do some body weight exercises here at home, but I really just got bored. I realized I really loved doing the 4 lifts for the sake of the 4 lifts more than getting fit by other means. I’m planning to buy a pair of DB though once it gets in stock again on eBay. Can’t spend too much right now on equipment as the application process to hospitals is damn expensive, so focusing most of my resources there. Definitely gonna hop back on 5/3/1 when I get the chance though.
What?! No, you’re definitely much stronger. Not even just absolutely but probably relatively too. What helped me have an embarrassingly better deadlift than squat though was to do tons of RDLs and GHRs and also have long arms and legs
so you could try more of those movements in the future.
No shame, that makes sense. When I was without equipment for a bit I did pushups, pullups, and hill sprints to do something. I don’t know what the situation is like for you, but maybe gyms will reopen again soon? I feel that the probability of that happening is greater than that of home gym equipment prices subsiding this year.
I’ll keep those in mind! Thanks!!
Well, even if gyms re-open, sadly, I’m currently living with two old folks with co-morbids. Relatively speaking, I have good chances if I get corona, but I can’t say the same for them. Besides, gyms are still closed. I guess I’ll cross that bridge when I get there
Convince em to chip in for gym equipment because being strongerer and healthier is the best protection we got right now

Might be picking up a pair of adjustable DBs tomorrow that goes up to 52.5 lbs a piece. Definitely excited!
Dumbbell workout for now. This is what I plan to do.
Day 1:
OHP
Side laterals
Rear delt flyes
Hip huggers (Jeff Cavalier stuff)
– More rear delts for balance
Day 2
Bench press
Rows
Curls
– I’ll try to see if I can set up some sort of pulley system to have a lat pull down type motion
– I think I’ll get enough tricep work from the bench press?
Day 3
Bulgarian Split Squats
RDLs
Goblet Squats
Day 4
Rest
Then repeat. So it’s gonna be 8/7 days
Feel free to point out flaws
Is this oly or standard?
Not sure which is which, but it’s 30mm
Isa standard size then. Can u fit More weight on?
Think you can DIY one yourself ez from hardware store components. Some people selling packs of the same thing not too expensi. Bought a set myself because couldn’t be arsed going out for it.
Will have to buy new plates. The 52.5lbs should be enough for the time being. They felt damn heavy. Definitely deconditioned.
Measured my weight at the clinic. 164.2 lbs. 165lbs/75kg was my goal weight while on 5/3/1. Now it’s just fats lol. Definitely gotta get work done with these dumbbells
28 August 2020
Side laterals 15lbs
10, 10, 10, 16
OHP 20lbs
10, 10, 10
Bear Huggers 20lbs
10, 10, 10, 15
Is one of those door pull-up bars an option for you?
I could look into it. I don’t really like the types you put in a doorway. I think I have a strong beam where I can screw something in. Any suggestions?
Any particular reason why you don’t like them? They’re good if you get the ones that actually hangs on your door frame as opposed to sticking to the sides-
Stuff like this-
Seen too many people fall lol. But I definitely prefer having a neutral grip too. Do those things have to be screwed?
Nope.
That’s why I recommend the ones that sit on the top of the door rather than rely purely on the sides.
Shouldn’t fall unless you swing like a maniac or trying to do them too explosively.
ohh niiiiice. I’ll keep an eye out. Thanks!
This is weird… shoulder workout but it’s my lats that have the DOMS
