How many guys do you know who squat 600 raw, oly or parallel. DO you yourself have a 600 lb squat? oly or parallel? equipped or unequipped? Most importantly do you have video evidence?

In my example, I stated specifically that I wouldn’t listen to a guy who is skinny and weak. I understand what you’re saying though. I would definitely listen to someone I thought was impressive, even if he didn’t fit my ideals or goals.

That being said, I don’t necessarily think doing 30 chins is strong.

Is this a challenge. I’m game – and I’m not even that good at chins. So what is it? Most reps? Most weight? Most reps at a certain weight? We can do this on your terms.

Haha! No it wasn’t a challenge however I do think it would be good for the board to go in on something like this. Challenges and contests are good for extra motivation and progress.

Besides, looking at how this thread went I can only imagine how another pullup challenge thread would end up. lol

I’ll save you the trouble though. I can do 20 chin over the bar dead hang pullups. I have not tried to get any more than that. I can do 10 chin over the bar with 45lb plate hanging from the waist. No vids no proof just take it or leave it.

90 degrees isn’t quads parallel, which bends the knee more than 90 degrees. Half squats aren’t 90 degrees either because the knee can’t bend 180 degrees.

I love it when people cover up their inability to write by accusing others of an inability to read. You said a full-range oly squat with 600@180 lbs bw is impressive, which in and of itself is dumb. A 600 lb oly squat at any weight is VERY impressive (I believe even Reza only does doubles or triples with 600) and at 180 it would be world-class.

Then you say that if half-reps wouldnt be as impressive. Are you seriously saying you meant half-reps with another weight? because theres nothing implying that in your original post. So either you cant write clearly, or you just admitted that, in fact, NOT just “anyone” can do parallel squats with 600@180, since you dont seem to know anyone.

So the guy does pullups with bad form. He’s not in any kind of competition, its not seen as any kind of official number by anyone, and if it helps him reach his goals, more power to him.

On the other hand, I dont get why all these people defending him think that him being strong otherwise means nobody should call bullshit on his “pullups”.
