I really have no neck

Def feeling the pulls more then the machine squats,
I can see why the body builder types like this kind of machine

great pump.

as for pulling I think I need to work on doing more off the floor,
make the main work be deficits and just to get some ā€˜heavy’ volume in
do something like 405 for triples something like this
5*405/3

today and most days this and last week, GPP
of diapers,
bottles.
and 14 lb weighted vest
lots of weighted vest walks.
stroller pushes.

here are some pics of the little guy from this weekend’s little vacation.[/quote]

I bet he smells good. They smell so great it almost makes me want another. Almost. That’s how they suck you in.

He really is lovely. He has a beatific look on his face.

btw, I’m talking about Rowan but I bet you smell okay too.

Oh, yeah, nice training.

What a cute babe!

I’m impressed by any sprint work. Running ain’t my thang, though I used to do it.

Thanks people…

the kid is pretty cool.

I just realized I did a triple at 425 wiht out any kind of regular training
need to think about that , maybe I need to just eat more.
trying to get to the gym today for some training.

things are looking up

switched mortgage agents,
good lead on a Nanny type.

and possibly training 2x this week

woo

On the job ad for the nanny, how do they translate ā€œnice rackā€ into swedish?

i am having huge jealousy on your pulls, kmac, that was awesome. and sprints? fuggeddabboudditt

thanks MJ… its the stress.

I have been crippled for two days… lots of ice on the neck and ice cold shower this morning seem to have
tricked it into feeling ok

training

yesterday

stroller pushes
14 lb weighted vest walks and stairs ( that would be the baby carrier)
diapers and bottles supersets

training today

B1 kroc row 100 1x20 each
B2 pushup bw+45 2x12

C facepull tricep pushdown medley lots x lots

notes
body weight 183 in shorts, shirt soccer shoes, and ipod.
need to get a bigger ipod.

was in a hurry did this all in 50 minutes not much rest…

4 plates on a chest supported row is a pr I guess I can do this for reps in future.
db floor presses felt ok on 90’s and 100 they got hard,
but did not kill the shoulder.
kroc rows, had to give up after one set.

pushdows, and face pulls - high volume to keep the blood moving,
thinking Tony was onto something a week or so ago when he mentioned high rep tri training to help with elbow shshit

this lower volume of training is good for maintaining if not increasing strength, but bad for
DOMs.

wanted to do some complexes or other cardo hahahahah.

thanks for reading.

In Sherlock Holmes mode here…judging from your pics and the equipment shown therein, your workout that day was focused on conditioning, and consisted of sandbag carries and sled pulling?

How’d I do?

good training over hear buddy. Waiting on my forced deload.

Had a nice weekend…long and too much food.

lawn mower, weedwacker wheelbarrow medley

I am mowing just under an acre with a push mower, I am an idiot.

training

mobility lots of fast fire hydrants, skips, hops, jumps, lunges
leg swings and ankle mobility

A OH squat 95x10,135x10,135x10
B Deadlift 135x5,225x8,3152x3,405 5x2
C1 power curl 135x5 *
C2 1 arm db snatch 70x5 *

  • did these no rest 3 rounds 5 reps

Notes.

stress sucks and it seems to come in batches.

OH squats-
really felt good tonight, helped open the hips
noticed all the cool kids are doing them, they make me feel awesome-
glad everyone likes them too

Am I that motivational??

Pulls-
wanted triples took doubles instead.
really feeling the difference when I sit back- sending the hips back is giving me far better bar speed.
5th set of doubles noticed, one foot coming off the floor-
is that hamstring weakness?

power curl and DB 1 arm snatch
did these with no rest, need to add in more conditioning work but cant make the time.
I just wanted to do something with some bang.

I think I can make this two day a week training work - if I can get two days of ā€˜track work’
I cant make the time, and I dont feel really good about pushing the carriage to a local track
and leaving him there while I work.

blah blah blah…
thanks for reading.
and all the support.

kmc

Just swinging through to say hi…thanks for always stopping by my log.

Walking lunges with the stroller can be killer

I remember when my youngest was first born, 7 weeks later the hubby deployed…most of my ā€˜training,’ was walking and doing housework holding the baby.

But they are cute, so that’s why we keep them

Loved the pic of you and your son. He’s a cutie. Must look like your wife. Not easy to train, work and spend enough time with the kid(s). Thats the main reason I train at home.

Nice OH squats dude.

Maybe you can find a ā€œtrack buddyā€ who can watch while you ren and vice versa.

OH Squats! I dabbled in it the other day… WOW!! What a killer!

Someday I will be strong enough to do an OH squat with an oly bar and maybe a tiny plate or two. In the meantime, I’ll watch you.

Dude, I love push mowers, and people think I’m an idiot, though I’ve only ever had to do up to about 1/3 acre.

So, yeah, maybe you are a little tetched.

Thanks people…

If I could do front squats OH squats hanging leg raises and snatch grip something everyday I would be a happy guy…

Eco I read back on some older posts and I think you asked aobut thoracic mobility from OH squats.

I say yes, the snatch OH squat both help encourage thoracic mobility

google cat camel and spinal flossing…

My take on the OH squat is that it is my best diagnoxtic tool
tells me where I am tight, and usually its hips, and left ankle and right shoulder.

lots of ankle work, hips stretches and leg swings usually do the trick.

what better way to warm up for squats or pulling then something that
forces you to squat with excellent upright posture,
activate the glutes, and preps the hips

its hard to make it all fit in the schedule. luckily, this only lasts til the kid hits 18…

I like this a lot. These are difficult for me, but I’ll have to pay more attention as I do them next time around.

Thanks people.

ā€˜trainin’

BW stuff at home

200 bw squats

5x5 pistols

200 pushups different kinds
a bunch of foam, mobility

stroller pushes, 14 lb weighte vest walks.

training with any regularity with a newborn is kind of difficult

for anyone following this mortgage refinance we are trying
a new direction

we live in a co-op in NYC that is tiny but in a great location
lets say the building while financially sound- is lacking in paperwork.
we have ā€˜strange’ insurance we switched brokers

but I think we are going to sell it - or burn it to the ground and move on.

Too much hassle- so we will be moving- leaving NYC

we are already renting an apartment, just outside of the city-
for the first time not counting college- or living on the road

I will actually not have an address in the five boroughs.

however there is a Judo club a boxing gym and a ā€˜fancy pants’ gym

all blocks from the rental.

Kevin, its great how you get the workouts in even with a newborn. Good luck with the refinancing. Whats the baby up to these days? Smiling, sitting up?
