What the hell? Stop rationalizing and thinking that, if you categorize your flaws, you somehow have a handle on them. “Analysis by Paralysis” isn’t an excuse for your behavior; it’s a behavior to AVOID.
What you’ve got is “Stagnation by Frustration.” You think that, because you aren’t seeing immediate tangible progress, you must be needing something else, so you switch without hesitation and make NO progress, like the donkey between two piles of hay.
What makes YOU think that YOU are an expert on working out and making progress? Pick a program–and be realistic: make it a beginner program, not the Superhero routine or anything–like ABBH or Total Body Training. Then write the whole thing out on paper–use a spreadsheet program if you can–and do NOT change what you do in the gym until you get through every week of the program.
This is a long-term project you’ve started; stop dicking around in the gym and do a PROGRAM, not just a workout.
(And if you really want flames, post a pic. I’M JOKING! No one wants to see your pics until you actually have something to show, which you won’t the way you’re going.)
Start. Today.
Are the people who do this the guys who used to be labeled as completely unathletic nerds who don’t adapt to training? Why else would someone make the process of lifting 100 times more complicated than it has to be instead of “lifting heavy weights on a regular basis and eating more”. It has now become some effort where there are five thousand seperate routines to try. That’s just fucking stupid. Getting bigger has never required some advanced degree in nuclear physics are a team analysts just to force some idiot into a weight room on a regular basis.
It is like some of these guys try to replace hard work with “book knowledge” as if they can somehow build bigger muscles by being able to quote a personal trainer’s entire book on the subject.
In all reality, if someone is too stupid to figure out that what makes the difference is the ability to stick with this long term and give it everything you have in the kitchen as well as the gym, I wish they would stay home. There are too many of these types filling up gyms to begin with. Stay the fuck home and play Dungeons and Dragons or whatever it is people who microanalyze concepts to the point of stagnation do a nightly basis.[/quote]
Amen! Quit bitching and put in some time. If you need someone to coddle you buy a Richard Simmons DVD.
