Keep On, Keepin' On...

Wow, that’s a big bench. Great work!

Thurs. Max Deadlift day.

seated rows 6x8

Deadlifts (Sumo/Conv)(s)145x3 (c) 235x3 (s) 325x2 (c) 415x1 (s) 475x1 (s) 505x1 (5lb pr) (s) 510x1 (5lb pr again)

Pyramid Bench 140/190/230/280/320/280/230/190/140 many sets & reps.

That was it. It was a great day for the deadlift. Considering all morning I was having mild panic attacks, it turned out great. The 510 was a super bonus, as I usually stop after the first pr.

Only problem, was sore hips and knees bothering abit after. But all is ok right now.

Sweet pulling! Two deadlift PRs in one session deserves a serious tip-o-the-hat.

Thanks brother. The benching and especially the deadlift was awesome. I promise to get some pics or vids. of me lifting, so you can see how ugly I look while doing these.

  1. Holy crap. Really, really strong.
I would love to see a vid (says the guy who can’t get his video act together).

Oh please.

Panic attacks about the impending max DL session? Or other life issues?

Scott,

You’re just beating the hell out of those weights. pr’s in deadlift and Bench in 1 week is fantastic, I see 4 plate bench presses in your near future.

Excellent work! You are really pushing forward. 405# is right around the corner.

No, haha. I suffer from major anxiety. It gets really bad some days, where I do not leave the house. Even with the meds. to help. Lately it’s been very bad.

Thanks guys. I would absolutely love a 405 bench. Id think Id retire from lifting “heavy” after that. Of course , Id probably want more… haha.

Right now, I’m abit sick, a nasty head cold, dizziness. So some time out is needed. We’ll see how long though, as I already miss the gym, and am getting very antsy to get back in.

Sorry to hear that. It must be difficult and frustrating. Do you find that training helps manage the symptoms?

I think the same thing. 405# is a big goal for me.
You will want more, though. Once you see those 4 plates on each side and feel it go up, you will think, “Man, wouldn’t four 45s and a 25 on each side look even better.”

No, not really. In fact it used to make it worse, as I’d be tired after training, and my anxiety would kick in, and I’d be all panic stricken. I try different techniques (music helps alot), but when it comes on hard, I’m defenceless.

It is very very frustrating as I have only had these symptoms for a couple of years now. I see doctors, and they give me drugs, then I do the same over & over.

For the most part, I can manage the days, as I try and think positively. It just, can be a real pain in the ass.

Hahaha…you’re correct sir. I know this is how I’ll feel. With the deadlift right now, all I can think of is hitting 600lbs. Of course I know, both , my bench & dead goals are still along ways away.

Scott,

My goal is a 600lb deadlift as well, however I still haven’t figured out how to get the weights to the moon so I can complete the lift.

Shit I just want to deadlift once a week- Im kidding.

Nice work Scott big bench and big Pulls

Brian, kmcnyc…thanks. It’s coming along well so far.

Tomorrow Ill try and go in, feeling better, do some odd lifts then start week 1 next week.

My DL goal is 2.5x bodyweight (275 lb.) in gear. The most I’ve hit is 242.5, but I know I have lots left in me.
