How often do you play football? I would guess that leg training makes your performance on the field suffer if you are still very sore or stiff, which can happen after a leg workout for days. If that’s what you meant by your last sentence there fiest.
Although I haven’t seen the dude in a few years, first thing that came to mind was kimbo slice, although a bit smaller then him.
Yes legs are far too sore and stiff to perform optimally. Also knees tend to take a real bashing whilst playing football which doesn’t allow me to train them as frequently as I should.

Well, yeah, if you are too sore to run around and cut at full speed, lifting will affect your on-field performance (which is one reason why people lift more offseason).
But I was wondering, specifically, if the guy added pounds of muscle to his legs how that’d make him feel while playing soccer (the kind of football he’s talking about). Of course that’s a question that takes awhile to answer.
OP looks good, but Kimbo’s a little bit bigger. See what you mean with the beard, though (I sported one 'til recently – interesting how people treated me differently in some situations). If it’s any consolation, though, I bet Kimbo’s a lousy soccer player.
SOL. Do you remember Roberto Carlos. It was reported in the SUN (so don’t believe it) that his thighs measured 35" EACH… bigger than his waist ;o). He had very big quads though.
Back when I did both soccer and weights I always had to do squats etc on Monday or Tuesday mornings after if match was on Sat and footie training on Tue and Thur.
On a side note. I found deadlifts gave me serious strength for holding the ball up with my back to goal.
Hahaha, kimbo is a beast. Did you see his fight with gannon? CLASSIC! It shows you that nobody is invincible and there’s always a bigger fish.
TO THE OP
I was skeptical at first, but now that I see your legit. You can not ask for better progress in the first year. Good job on the low bf too. Some people have been working out for 5x as long as you and their physiques do not compare. 8
Ya if you have only been pushing steel for 1 and a 5 half years you have hit the jackpot genetics wise. Great work and keep it up man, you have a very impressive back. You do seem smaller than 195 pounds at 5’11 if your profile info is correct.

exactly what I have do! takes at least 2 days to recover…even longer if I don’t consume enough food.

thx…that’s what people in the gym keep saying. I will expand on my approach, diet etc. in more detail when I get a chance…it seems that is far more important than the results I have achieved.

To be honest my weight has always been on the high side for my height and I have added quite a bit of muscle to my frame over the past year. Problem I have now staying at this weight…if I get any heavier then it will affect my football even more!

I could never understand how Roberto Carlos managed with those huge quads…I personally feel that his shooting accuracy was affected as a result.

I love how everyone screamed troll at the beginning now they are eating their words
Though i see where they are coming from, awesome work in such short time.
Damn, you mean this isn’t a troll and he actually has an impressive physique. Damn, I like to see these troll jobs because some of them are really clever. Drive Through Hero anyone? Seriously nice work man. For a year that is really impressive. Have you lifted weights previous or are you brand new. Doesn’t matter. I give you a 7. Keep it up.

Good job man. If your true about your training history then you must have put in some serious effort.
Good job also for not acting like a jerk under all the critism. What are your lift numbers?
Everything is true…I have put in some SERIOUS effort over the past year or so…I don’t see the point in telling lies. I have always been extremely fit because I play football (soccer) but had never trained seriously with weights until last yr.
My stats are all on the bodybuilding.com link posted earlier on this thread…There will always be doubters so I will have to try and get some videos up so people can see how I train…every session gets treated like my life depends on it…that applies when I lift heavy and when I lift light…contrary to popular belief, you don’t need to lift heavy to stimulate your muscles…I always train to feel the muscle rather than just tossing up the weight…also I pay extremely close attention to all my negative movements.
Anyway…like I said, hopefully get some vids up soon if I can get hold of a camera.
