Just Over a Year Into the Journey!

Good job OP! Your back definitely is your best feature. By the way, what team do you play for?

I’ll give you a 6, I wish I could give you a higher rating but I still believe that Branch Warren will show up in the near future and post in the RMP forum…

Oh what the heck…he won’t come. I’ll give you a 7. Keep up the good work!

Lol…thx

I would like to be black to have those kind of results :stuck_out_tongue:

And I give you an 8

thx buddy

From one bearded man to another, great physique. On a side note, do you have the beard for pure looks, or is it deeper than that?

No deep meaning.

I thought it odd, but figured with the double smiley-faces (one with tongue stuck out) that DaveRock was being intentionally ironic.

On another note, to the OP: You trained for soccer, competed in it, and reached, according to your own words, a pretty high level in the sport. This was before taking up weight training – at least before taking it up with the intensity and visible results (increased mass) that you know have. You said, too, that you trained primarily for strength/performance, secondarily for aesthetics.

By looking at you, I’d guess you’ve gained a significant amount of strength in a year and a half, along with some mass. How do you feel it’s affected your play on the field. Better? Worse? Mixed bag? Not much different? There was some discussion about huge thighs getting in the way, but that doesn’t appear to be a problem for you yet.

I have made amazing strength gains which helps a great deal. My view is that big quads wouldn’t necessarily be that accretive given that soccer is primarily an endurance sport…therefore carrying more weight around would certainly have an impact on my endurance.

on a different note…a major problem I have with football is I seem to loose a lot of mass when I play…some of it is just water but unfortunately it looks like some of it may be muscle as well.

Trenbolone?

All natural…not interested in steriods as I have no desire for freaky size. Happy with the way I am progressing naturally.

Fucking brilliant!

Sorry OP, but Q’s comment had me laughing pretty damn hard…

Back on topic.

Great work for just over a year - almost unbelievable. You’ve heard enough of that crap already but you definitely have been gifted genetically. Not a bad problem to have.

Keep it up, and keep us posted with your progress. I’m sure you’ve got a lot of growth left in you.

I gave you a 7. The rating would be higher if your legs were proportionate to your upper body.

Later.

if you are worried about affecting your endurance in soccer then it’s your upper body mass you should be concerned about, not your quads. Stronger quads will not have much effect on your endurance and should make you faster. A lot of soccer players actually have relatively big legs in comparison with their overall muscle mass.

the men in my family all naturally have relatively big quads/strong legs and we have all had a fair measure of success in endurance heavy sports. Between myself, my dad, my brother and my uncles we’ve competed in rugby league, aussie rules football, road cycling, judo, tennis, volleyball, boxing, squash and track&field at state/national level and endurance wasn’t a problem. The benefits to athleticism of having strong legs far outweighs the very slight impact the extra weight would cause IMO.

Thx for the insight…I was more worried about the mass rather than the strength gains. I am primarily interested in gaining as much strength as possible all over but have always felt that mass would hinder my endurance.

thx man…I am taking everyone’s advice on board and will start paying more attention to my legs.

What was your intial training like? can you remember?

Also what did your diet/training look like when you put on most of your size?

Ty in advance for replies, you look great btw. Gave you a 10 to bring your rating up.

Goddamnit!

This thread makes me want to go back to the gym even though I just got home from it.

Thanks for the inspiration. Nothing short of incredible.
