Whats good guys, brand new to this site, so this post is basically just me playing around to figure out how everything on here works. I have written some articles on Bodybuilding.com so I generally have significant things to talk about, but this one is just for fun.
I am 17, and been competeing since I was 15. I have competed in INBF, NPC, and right now am competeing in an OCB Line up.
I just came off a win last weekend at the 2009 OCB Spirit Of America, (Super Pro Quallifier). Won the teenage class, and nailed top 5 in a HUGE mens class.
I have my dieting down pat at this point in time, and am confident in competeing by now, but I figured just the same I would post a quick progress pic taken this week.
4 and half weeks out from my up-coming show: 2009 OCB Rhode Island Natural, May 23.
BTW, If anybody knows of a way to post more than one pic at a time let me know.
I’m impressed man. You obviously stay pretty close to contest shape most of the time as well. How much weight do you try to put on every off season?
Do you ever consider doing a years bulking or longer, prof x style?
Height: 5’7"
Weight: 147lbs
Bodyfat: 5% (Under 4% show time)
Arms: 15.5"
Chest: 41"
Waist: 28"
Legs: 23"? (24 off season havent measured since)
I got up to about 13% b.f in this off season and yes I took about a year off. I did a fairly clean bulk. After this show I will take the summer to do a heavy bulk and then on to OCB Nationals in November.
right on man. as a former teen competitor myself I’d say ride it out and be the best ‘teen’ competitor you can be until you turn 20. Once you do take as much time off as you need to throw on that mass to compete with the big boys
Congrats on the win man and looking solid for 4 weeks out no doubt!
Thanks again guys. While bulking I consumed about 20 cals. per pound of bodyweight (150lbs=3,000 cals). I find that you’r needed amount of daily protein is typically consumed without even trying since your eating 6-8 meals a day. I mainly focused on A LOT of carb’s.

Oh, and my weight is simply what I weigh… and NOTHING more. Infact I hardly ever step on the scale. Its WAY more important to focus on how you LOOK and not what you weigh. Everyone holds weight differently, I am frequently told I look about 165lbs when I’m down to 145lbs for a show.
Somebody at my gym even guessed 185lbs when I was at 150lbs. Go by the mirror! Thanks again for everybody’s suport. Photos from the show will be in soon.

That’s a big sumbich for a 17 year old.
what?
I was 165 lbs at 5’8 around 10% at 18 yrs old, no where near big. In fact, small
yea im sure you looked like this kid when you were 17[/quote]
here’s me at 18, 165 lbs 10% bodyfat give or take a little.
Granted, I didn’t have the nutritional knowledge or even workout knowledge at the time to do what the OP has done with getting into contest shape. This is only posted to show that 5’8 165 lbs is not a “big sumbich” ay 17 even when 147 lbs at 4%
