Did another arm workout today cause I’m a total bro…
Nah, in reality the only time I had away from thesis work was when I was training someone and they were doing arms so thought might as well do something.
Pushdowns S/S Bbell Curls
Medium Band x 15 reps x 2 sets
20k x 15 reps x 2 sets
Medium Band x 15 reps, Light band x 15 reps x 2 sets
25k x 12 reps x 2 sets
Heavy band x 10 reps, Medium Band x 10 reps, Light band x 10 reps x 2 sets
27.5k x 12 reps x 2 sets
Been a long day so I was struggling but if I can grind out reps on a bad day means the good days will be plain sailing.
Benching
87.5k x 5 reps
92.5k x 5 reps
100k x 5 reps
50k x 15 reps x 5 sets - this fucked me up, felt like my weird right pec was getting torn in two by the pump.
Pushdowns
Light band x 25 reps x 5 sets
Weighing 188lbs in the AM right now, heavier and leaner than I was this time last year before I started my cut. Arms are at 15.5 inches completely cold so I’m happy with progress so far.
Currently too fat or not? I seem to store a large amount of fat right in my lower abs so it makes me feel fat as fuck.
What did you ever end up doing about this? Just keep going and not worry about it?
Yup.
I think I was just going through a slight but of shock after being so lean for an extended period of time.
Still debating with myself wether or not to cut this summer or to have an extended bulk (not getting faaat tho obv) until 2015 and then get shredded again for Men’s Health.
I think it will depend on when I hit my strength goals.

That’s probably what was happening with me too back whenever it was that I made a similar comment.
How are you going about gaining/bulking/whatever-you-want-to-call-it? Are you pretty settled onto a basic menu now?
Yeah right now i’m eating:
Meal 1 - 5 eggs, 2 scoops of whey
Meal 2 - 2 tins of tuna, 2 scoops of basmati rice
Meal 3 - 150g oats, tablespoon peanut butter, 2 scoops of whey
Meal 4 - 2 chicken breasts, 2 scoops of basmati rice
Shakes before and after - 2 scoops of whey, 2 scoops of maltrodextrin
Don’t know exact macros but its increases of the amounts I was already eating and gaining on. Somedays, like today. I skip the oats and one of my shakes and have a pizza.
I eat a fair bit of fruit as well as I enjoy but cant be rooked counting it during a bulk cause I’m so methodical when it comes to cutting.

How does that make you feel? Energetic? Lethargic? “Normal”? Are you ever hungry during the days? Do you ever have trouble getting stuff down?
I get hungry, somewhat bloated with shakes but that doesn’t really bother me.
Sometimes I struggle with eating a meal but that mores due to boredom of taste than being full.
In all honesty ever since I had to endure >1600 kcal I dont ever really get too full.

Curious, why would you want to do Men’s Health again? they seemed to go for a bunch of DYEL’s in this last competition I thought.

… because it’s Men’s Health. And a challenge.
And because you can say you were in Men’s Health, lol.

Here is the winner from this year, looks alright.
Personally for me even though I can maintain decent motivation to train and eat year round, nothing had me as motivated as the 6 months leading up to taking my pics last time.
So by planning to enter it again in 2015 I would have a more focused goal to work towards achieving.
I was actually unaware of any physique comps in Scotland until tonight, there is one. So that is always an option instead!
