That’s because it’s not 80k. You still have two more days to reach my original prediction ;-)[/quote]

Just for you, if my triceps are feeling ok tomorrow, I will go press 80k. It won’t be pretty but it’ll be done.

Nope, died at 3 inches from lock out.

Haha, well thanks for trying. You’ve still got until Christmas or the end of the year, whichever on you said. Sounds like you’ll definitely have it by then.

14/11/2013 | Cycle 6 Day 8

Should have been deads today but i’ve got some bad DOMs from squats so did benching.

Bench

80k x 5 reps
92.5k x 3 reps
105k x 3 reps (PR)

120k x 1 rep (PR)

Questioned the spotter afterwards to check he didn’t touch the bar until it was locked, said he didn’t so I’m taking it.

Incline Bench

50k x 12 reps x 4 sets
70k x 8 reps (PR, really happy with this)

Pushdowns

Mediums Band x 15 reps x 5 sets

^Nice

Ballsy jump up in weight too, but looks like it paid off

Cheers, I was originally wanted to go to 115 then 120 but I really didn’t have time for the extra set.

Steroid gains up in here.

Was your Star Wars casting today? How did it go?

Great job with the overhead press, you are now stronger than me on every main barbell lift except the bench press, and I’m sure you’ll overtake me soon there too :). Keep it up!

EDIT: Also, weird question lol, but what size are your quads? Unpumped and unflexed?

I wish :(.

I can’t wait to get a chunk of course work done and be able to really nail training the way I want to again.

It got pushed back until the weekend of the 30th!

How odd, I would have thought you would be destroying me on lower body movements…

Couldn’t honestly tell you, i’ve never really measured body parts. I will measure them this week when I measure my neck (I’m getting a neck harness cause im sick of being a pencil neck).

Ah right, well good luck with it and keep me updated! Lol.

Well that’s why I asked about leg size: my lower body is incredibly weak, which is strange because I think it looks proportionately bigger than my upper body. I’d say glutes, quads and hams are a strong point in terms of physique but a weak point in terms of strength, which I really don’t understand.

My all time max deadlift is 170kg (but I have a dodgy back), back squat is 130kg (horrendous) and front squat is 95kg. Interestingly though I’ve reverse lunged 130kg (which I think is much better than my other lifts), so perhaps it’s not so much that my lower body is weak, but more that I’m better suited for single leg movements (whether because of proportions or imbalances or whatever).

That’s awesome about the neck harness, I’ll be interested to see how you find it. I’ve often thought about getting one myself.

I think if you were doing consistent barbell training like me you would be leaps ahead of me in all lifts.

Did measurements when I woke up:

Left Quad - 23 inches
Right Quad - 22 inches (nerve impingement)
Neck - 14.5 inches
Gunz - 15 inches
Fat - Too much
Muscle - Too little

I did do that in the past so I’m not sure, but you are probably right that I shouldn’t be surprised by them given my training style. I don’t think I’d be leaps ahead of you though!

How much do your legs dwarf mine then lol?

Mine are 26 inches at the moment. I think I store fat in my legs though, and they are weaker than yours, so I don’t think it’s a good thing.

18/11/2013 | Cycle 6 Day 9

shite shite shite
was doing deads and couldn’t even do 170k on my warm ups for 180k

Chins

Bodyweight x 8 reps x 5 sets

Curls

Fat grips and bar x 16 reps x 5 sets

NeckWork

Extension - 7.5k x 20/15/10/10/10 reps
Felxion - 2.5k x 10/10/10 Nothing x 10/10

I really need to get a boot up my ass and get training and dieting back on track 100%.

It’s feeling so difficult just to keep my head above water in life outside of the gym right now though hence why it’s seeping into my sessions. I could barely keep my eyes open tonight.

Might as well give an update on how I look the now too and play the cards on the table.

I’m sitting at 183-185lbs depending on the day. Looking bloated and smooth.

For now, my short term goal is to get a 16 inch neck by january.

Looking good my man! Still looking very lean - you are making great progress :).

I’m the same way with life outside the gym getting in the way. It’s a pain, but hopefully I’ll come out the other side with renewed passion and energy. Sucks right now though.

Is that neck work with the harness? What is it like?

EDIT: After talking about neck training yesterday I think I’m going to try this: How to Build a Powerful Neck

I wonder how much of your current look is due to increased cortisol from the stress. I’m just noticing parallels with myself right now with increased stress and the visual changes to my physique.

Good luck with everything you’ve got going on.

Thanks, the extension work was with the harness doing nods and the flexion work was just lying with my head off the bench bringing my chin to my chest and all the way back down. The pump was sickening.

The harness was ok, it’s nylon so its not the comfiest but it was only 7 pound so I would recommend it if you are wanting one, check on ebay for the same one!
