JPs Prep Log

JP

Stats from starting

80 weeks of a generic 6 day split with varying 8 week meso’s, but now moving to more Men’s Physique specific focused split @ 5 days/wk focusing more on contest/prep specific musculature.

Started around 182lbs and am now 204lbs

Goal is to bulk to 215 and diet back accordingly

BF 13-15% while in a caloric surplus currently

~3550C/day

Macro breakdown;

255P

379C

98F

Oddly enough I have the most trouble hitting fats (I do hit, it just seems like work)

TRT Dosage of Test for around 9 months at 200mg/wk (no AAS) absolutely no side effects or issues

Currently on Test only @300mg/wk pinning 2x (Currently no AAS, but will add in the future as necessary) Apparently 300mg is my limit for not having side effects. Started encountering night sweats, joint pain, low grade fever, but easily fixed with my AI (Anastrozole, currently taking .5mg 1 day after pinning)

Bloods due in around 4 more weeks, but last panel was all green.

BP is 119/73

RHR around 68 average

Cholesterol levels all in check

Sleep is 7.5-8.25 hrs averaged per night

I’ve been training for a few years seriously now (with off and on previously). Having dedicated some significant time to it now and my body responding by providing the results, It certainly gets addicting. I have hired a coach to help get me more into prep shape, hence the very specific Physique training protocol, and meal plan to add weight. I’ve never really kept a log/diary beyond just adding notes in my workout app if I noticed something, used a different machine from the previous week, etc. So I’d like to use this platform to do just that, keep notes/track of food and training, help answer questions from anyone about what it is I’m doing and why, show progress and contest prep, and hopefully have some questions answered that I’m curious about along the way.

I guess it’s just a personal thing, but I don’t take pictures of myself, lol. So I literally have like 3 on my phone over 3 years. I don’t mean I’m camera shy, my wife has a billion photos of us, I just don’t take photos of my physique, or while I’m in the gym. I probably need to get better with that so I can actually visualize the process.

That being said, I think that’s a half decent introduction to where I’m at now, and I’m looking forward to sharing progress and soliciting feedback from everyone! Oh, and I’m a 43 year old male, I think I missed adding that.

Here’s the best photo I have showing a little before and after. I promise to try to get better with that side of things, lol

You tried to load a picture but it did not come through.
Can you post something that has your current physique? I know you dont normally take pictures of yourself - neither do I. You’re gonna have to get used to it if you want any real feedback.

Are you doing this with the help of a coach?
When do you plan to compete?

Not sure why it didn’t paste the image. Hopefully this one works.

Yes, working with a coach currently, and my plan is to compete sometime in 2026, ideally spring/summer timeframe.

Off day today. LISS Cardio on the treadmill.
Current protocol has been; 30 min/ incline 10/ 3.4mph

weight sitting at 204.4 this morning. 11ish more pounds to goal weight.

Off topic; being a bit of a backpack/bag hoarder, which I didn’t realize until recently when my wife pointed out I have damn near filled a closed with various bags of all shapes and sizes. I think I finally found the perfect gym bag (which means I’ll use it for 6 months and get bored) But it’s the Vans (yea the skate shoe brand) Breakout Backpack. Perfect amount of interior space for straps, wraps, etc. Side compartment for phone and AirPods case, wallet, and keys, with separate zipper. 2 water bottle pouches on the sides. And the bottom of the bag compartment which has its own zipper, holds my Cardillo belt perfectly. If you’re in the market, check it out. I have the trendy Wolfpak brand bag, and I just don’t like it honestly. Nothing wrong with it, it just doesn’t pack right for how I want it.

I have seen others say something similar and am curious - what do you consider AAS?

I just use the term to describe anything that doesn’t naturally occur in the body. Deca, Var, NPP, etc. I know it’s not 100% accurate considering HGH is in the body but I don’t think people would consider taking that as similar to taking a TRT dosage of Test. But even taking Test in what would be considered a supraphysiological dosage, typically 500mg+, can be considered AAS as it far exceeds what would naturally occur in the body.

From my experience, because Test is so common and seemingly the base in most recommended cycles, it’s sort of referred to on its own. To me, AAS is more the Wild West type of stuff; very high dosage test, strong orals, Tren, etc. stuff created in a lab specifically formulated for bodybuilding, generally accompanied (though certainly individually dependent) with potentially serious side effects.

Appreciate the response. I was under the impression that AAS stands for Anabolic-Androgenic Steroids - and bioidentical testosterone certainly qualifies. I do think there is a difference between TRT and supraphysiological doses.

I have seen this disclaimer before, “I’m on TRT but no AAS.” Testosterone, to me, is an AAS by definition so I feel it would be more accurate to say that someone’s AAS use is limited to TRT if it is prescribed by a doctor in a normal physiological range.

Semantics, but it can get confusing.

Just FYI, if it is an Androgenic Anabolic Steroid (which testosterone is), its considered AAS.

I wouldn’t bother getting caught up with weird definitions of what is and is not steroids or TRT, or what is a blast. Saying you’re on 300mg test is perfectly normal with no chance of someone misinterpreting what you’re saying because of varying personal definitions

Also, most of these AAS were designed for the same purpose that testosterone was - they just had other side effects that made it unreasonable to use in treatment of muscular disorders. Except Tren… tren was made for cattle lol.
