I apologize. You’re right, I’m just fucking with these guys. Partly because it annoys me when people like PtrDr shove Christianity down everyones’ throats, and partly because I know that Christians feel morally obligated to convert all 5 billion people on the planet. I’m quite sure I could continue this thread to 500 posts, because they see it as their moral duty to convince me. It completely amuses me to watch the lengths they’ll go to in order to convince everyone that Christianity makes any sense at all. They claim to have faith, but they go looking for proof just the same. I apologize to any Christians I’ve offended. I don’t care what anyone devotes themselves to as long as they leave me alone.
I’m glad your just messing with us. All of your arguements are so inteligent and well thought out. I guess since there are 42 generations between Joseph and David mentioned in Luke that means the average would be 1080/42=it doesn’t matter because it is the truth. You come in here trying to put holes in Christianity but you can’t and I am done trying to help you see the light. Your right the only reason I am doing this is because I do care what happens in your life, I am sorry that I cared. In the midst of looking up your other question I realized that it does not matter how much truth I give you, your heart is hard. I found many commentaries and books about the subject matter of Jesus’s appearences but does it matter, no because you wont listen. Just like you took that article and took single sentences out of it to make arguements. Taking phrases out of context is not scholarly it is ignorant. Just like you made your arguement about when the disciples first saw Jesus, I have read all the accounts and there is no meat to your arguement. These are totally different situations. Otherwise you proof it to me. If Jesus didn’t rise from the grave then what happened to the body. I would like to know what you think, or should I just go look it up in THE AGE OF REASON to find what you “think”. You know what I don’t even care anymore, because now I know your true intentions. But I would like to thank you because in the midst of all this I have found even more reason to believe.
Doogie…
If you call standing up for the truth and correcting error “shoving it down peoples throats” then maybe thats what I have done. I don’t consider it that.
Rememember…we all took an oath to stand for truth when we became a part of this here T-Nation site! Far brighter minds than mine have figured out the truth of the Word of God!!
Just because I am not your stereotypical “fat …weak…Christian” doesn’t mean I should seek not speaking the truth…in love…even if it offends you. If it does offend you…maybe you should do a gut check on yourself. Too many people expect christians to just back down for fear of being ridiculed or called names or whatever insulting things you can think of to call us. That doesn’t work with me. I am extreme…in the weight room…AND for Christ.
Your soul will have to deal with God when you die…and so will mine.
I don’t wish anyone at all to not know the Lord…but I have no fantasy of converting millions like you suppose. Its interesting though…the fact that we want to convert people or reach them with the truth…its interesting that what we wish is eternal life for them! It would be totally selfish NOT to share the gospel and truth of Jesus Christ. The good news is so good that you can’t help but want to tell others!!!
It means I am free…free from slavery to this world…which is going to heck in a bucket…and it means I have an eternal life with the Master of the Universe…do you have that assurance??
Eternity is a loooonnnggg time my friend…make sure you have the right facts before you lay your head down each night. NONE of us know if today or tommorrow will be our last!
PtrDR Ok, lets get back to the Golden rule. I would hope you would chastize me if I needed it. That’s just me. I’m not joking. I also appreciate your oppinions, your faith, and your message. I love Christ. I am also not joking. I believe more similarly to you than you think. I will say though that I am not a christain, nor do I believe I need to call myself christain to believe in Christ. I hate the symbol of the cross… not like you think though. I hate that we tote it as though an idol, yet it is the symbol of his death and of inhumanity when you think about it. I don’t appreciate the fact that the bible has been edited over centurys. Don’t try to say it hasn’t either. I also dislike the idea of “holey war”. The only “holey wars” I know of are headed by the angels under the command of God directly. I don’t like anyone pretending that they know God better than I do, this is a personal God remember (he chooses what you know of him and nothing else)? But I think it is great you have your faith in God! I think its wonderful you have your heart full of Christ. It works for you, you have a personal connection to it, it is yours! Mine is mine, and to each his own. You will agree, whether you think you are worthy or not, that God will speak to you if God wants to. You have no choice, no power, and must assume ignorance of his plans. No one can speak for God. You can spread Christs story but you can not assume you know whether God will judge me or anyone else. If you do, you are commiting a sin nearly as bad as Satanells in thinking you know as much as God. So, speaking from on high is a dangerous thing I would think. God will lead people when and where. He does not need you to lead them, I have no clue whether he wants you to or appreciates it if you do though. So I can’t stop you. Just welcome everyone! Follow the steps of Christ, but let him talk for himself. Gods voice is deafening when it is heard, even to Satan. No one can shut it out. Keep yours less than annoying and I wish you success.
RS…I do welcome everyone. And the Bible says that God will judge everyone…its His word…He says it…not me. I am just saying what the Bible says.
And I am not talking “from on high”. I am just proclaiming that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. I am not bashful about it. I am not without sin. If I did said I was…I would be a liar…just like the Bible says.
I love what the cross stands for. I agree with you I think in the sense that we should not have idols. If someone is worshipping the image
instead of the sacrifice (Christ) then they have a problem. I am not aware of people that do that though. I wear a cross on my necklace…its not an idol I worhsip…but it does serve as a reminder of the price that God paid on the cross for all of our sins. Its that and nothing more…just a reminder…
As far as knowing about the Lord; the only way to know the Lord is to study and meditate on His Word…which is the Bible and also to spend time in prayer. I have no idea if I know more about that than you in particular. It doesn’t matter. God knows who seeks Him with all his heart and who doesn’t.
However…if someone who is a Christian can correct any error of mine in a loving way through scripture…then I am open to that. We are always learning more insights from the Word and men who devote their lives to the study of the Word for teaching. I am not above correction at all. Remember…pride is the deadliest sin. It was the crux of Satan’s downfall. I seek to quard myself against pride and I hope you do as well.
I am bold for the truth of Christ…but not proud of anything I have done…just whats been done for me!!
