I’m in. Started bulking a bit earlier though, went from 175-185 so far in the last 6 weeks or so, plan on going to at least 210 in the next little while. I’m 5’9 on a good day.
Some goals:
- 17" arms and beyond (just under 16 right now, just over 15 in my avatar… always been a weak spot for me)
- Deadlift 585 (475 now)
- Hold the weight for a while, maybe cut/recomp a bit for summer just so I’m more comfortable, then back to bulking for next year up to 220-230+, hold that for a while, then maybe do a real cut.
BUMP! How’s the bulking going, fellas?
Mine has been slow, but mostly good gains I believe. I’m up to about 202, arms are creepin up on 17", hope to be there in another month or so. My deadlift got up to 495, and 475x4, and then I started using a belt, and it has stalled hard. Decided against the belt now, just could not get the feel of it. Also I benched 335, and that was a little while ago, hopefully going to get 345 on Monday… I really thought I put a goal as bench 365 but apparently I didn’t. My plan of keep on bulking, maybe a wee summer recomp, then continue bulking after summer, hold that, and then finally do a real cut, still stands.
Good going! How’s the triceps training going? You’d probably easily get past 17" working more on them.
Bulking each year gets harder and harder for me; I’m actually up to 7000 cals now! I really wouldn’t have believed that a few years ago (I remember gaining on 3000 cals). It’s gotten to the point where I’m not sure how long my bulking periods can last, considering only doing it in shorter cycles (just to get a break to my digestive system and for sanity!).
When you recomp, you hold your weight for a while…then the next time you bulk (push the bodyweight up) you find that you need far more calories to break previous bodyweights. It just seems that the more I eat, the faster my metabolism works to over-compensate lol.
Still motivated though, going for that 250lbs+! I will reach it someday :)
Thanks man! Yeah it seems my triceps and biceps are both lagging, but I am working on bringing them both up to par. My arms have always been a weak point though, when I started lifting they were 11", which I realize is just awful.
And yeah 7000 calories is a shit-ton lol, glad I’m not needing that yet, eating around 4000 myself, although I do need to up that a bit soon.
Good luck and glad you’re still motivated man, you’ll get there.
