^^^ I do the same thing: “dance” my feet. A waste of energy, for sure.
Yeah, your progress is so inspiring. You’ve come so far SO FAST!

squat day - fabulousness! (I needed one of those. Maschy: Maybe if your rub on me you can pick up a bit of the glitter darlin, I know you need a little pick-me-up. ![]()

Hells yes!! I’m rubbing up on you right now ![]()
Awesome PRs woman! In fact, your entire session was killer. Excellent work and absolutely inspiring.
Keep it up girl, you are killing it!
I see your down in SAMA driving the boys crazy.
You have a very cool kitchen.
Thanks everyone for the major kudos! My head is so big I had to order pizza for supper. Now I’m blaming all you guys. teasin ![]()
Joe: kitchen is brand spankin new. moved in the condo a year ago. there’s something to be said when all the crap that’s been in your home was yours from the start…
Great job on the squats. Once things start to click it’s nice. I don’t think everyone realises just how much technique and mechanics effect how we do. It isn’t just about being strong; smart and patient are enormous factors. I’ve had to do a lot of work on walk out too. I used to dance and fidget a lot more and I still have a knee pop I can’t seem to get rid of before I finish my set up.
Oh yeah, I hope you had a nice Canada day. The weather here was spectacular.
cheers to you Canadians!
you hanging out in SAMA? i don’t hang out over there but you’ve sparked my attention, i better take a gander.
mmmmm, pizza. ![]()
Hi T - hanging out in Sama but just as a place where I can showcase my lates photography attempts. As I’ve ran out of models and neither my husband or my cat are willing to cooperate I decided to used the timed shutter and work on some self portraits. Nothing too revealing, I was aiming for mood and atmosphere. Here’s another one that I haven’t posted in Sama. Just learning as I go along.

Canada was spent drinking beer and fidling with my camera which has become a favorite plaything… awesome for me, perhaps not so much for others. lol. weather was rather bi-polar. beautiful sunshine, then rain, then sunshine… non stop.

The pictures are lovely and interesting. I particularly like the first ones in sama sitting on the floor. I did something similar several years ago. They were nude pictures that I took of myself that I then used in some embroidery projects. I looked all over the internet for nude pictures of women in the poses I wanted for the pieces I had planned but couldn’t find them so I used myself as a model. They turned out well. They don’t look like me; they just look like a woman.
Nlmain, those photos are gorgeous and very artistic! My question to you is what kinda camera you got? The quality is phenomenal.
Thanks O ![]()
skye: it’s a digital canon rebel xti bought a good couple of years ago. You can now own one for half the price I paid. sigh. 'tis the way of technology I suppose. But I love it. It’s user friendly and great quality. Not recommended for party pics or spending the day on the beach (sand). I have a little canon elf for those occasions that I can just slip in my purse.
I love the pictures, N. Very sexy, great mood.
I have a Pentax K100D and a few lenses that I play with every now and again. Mostly, though, I use my little Canon Powershot. The camera you have with you is always the best camera!
Great pics, have you thought about taking “action” pics of particular parts of your training.
On second thought that might be really dificult even with a timer.
Kimba: totally agree that’s why I usually carry my little one with me everywhere. especially around family and friends.
Joe: I’d love to do a series of workout pictures but I have nothing at home and I lift in a small commercial gym. They wouldn’t appreciate all the setup involved… hence a quick vid doesn’t take too much space or time. But I love a challenge so I’ll ponder this for a while and see if I can’t do a couple of athletics around my home - or the park near my house.

That’s a NICE camera…costs a pretty penny, too. Worth it because those pics look professional to my untrained eye ![]()

I used a stand to get the angle I want, the timer for self portrait and then I finish them using photoscape program which you can download from the web for free.
awesome pics! you have quite some talent with the camera, of course the great looking subject matter has something to with the success of your photos! But your composition and creative staging truly show your talent!
Thanks soldog. I always had an eye but had no talent to draw or paint. Owning a good camera and learning to use it has been a great outlet for my creativity.
oh right. this is a training log. might as well post my workout ![]()
Friday: 45 minute bike ride in the city. nothing crazy, just a pleasant ride with a few uphills.
weekend: too much drinking. saturday had the family over for supper. We must have been at least a dozen in my tiny condo including a 1 month old and 8 month old. Because there are some extremely picky eaters in my family (read impossible) I decided to have a “make your own gourmet sandwhich” theme with some awesome produce, cheeses and cold cuts that I bought from my little market accompanied by some pretty salads and such.
Everyone had something in their mouth at one time or another. That’s a first.
sunday: did a photo shoot during the Montreal Jazz festival. Had a fantastic time rambling about looking for interesting people and visuals.
Workout: had psyched myself saying Today was The Day I pulled by 300lbs rackpull from below the knee. haha. good joke.
rackpulls
135lbs 1x5
185lbs 1x5
205lbs 1x5
225lbs 1x3
275lbs -no go.
245lbs 1x1
275lbs -no go
265lbs - no
225lbs 1x1
205lbs 1x3
blah. it all felt heavy an impossible.
pullups
1x1
with bands
3x5
DB shoulder press
25lbs 3x10
DB curls - even my sistard curls couldn’t put a smile on my face
25lbs 3x6
Needed some major mojo to swing this crappy day around. Looked around the gym for something I could do to end the workout on a positive note (a good trick for helping your butt back in the gym the next day). Decided I was going to do weighted dips. Even if it turned out I could only do 1. Turns out I’m pretty fly.
Weighted dips
belt + 10lbs plate (the damn belt and chain weighs something fo sure!) + 10lbs PR atleast
2x5
1x4 - struggled but just couldn’t make the 5th rep
Bodyweight 1x5.
now I believe I have made myself worthy of this compound’s company.
Cheers
N
edit: wanted to add that those rackpulls were 2nd pin from the bottom. Last time I had hit 275lbs at 3rd pin from the bottom. aw well.
