I had to use another bench today 'cause the one I liked was taken. The bench and pegs are higher which made it hard to keep my arch when unracking. The results were rather unexciting.
Dumbell Snatch
45lbs 1x1 - PR + 5lbs yeah!
40lbs 3x5
45lbs 1x1 - tried it again just to prove to myself I could do it
50lbs -nill. My head got kinda big. Tried twice but my form was so bad I could have hurt myself. Decided to let it go before I knocked my head off my neck.
farmers walks with short neutral grip BB (used for curls and such - makes waddling around the gym somewhat safe)
115lbs x 1
135lbs x 4
155lbs x 1 Last one was tough.
1= back and forth the lenght of the gym.
supper is baked salmon covered with dill and sweet potatoes. yummy!
Thanks Joe - took the opportunity since the gym was pretty empty to try those out. The 155 was a good challenge.
soldog: would have LOVED an oaky Chardonnay with that but I’ve been drinking beer and wine since friday so I figured my mind and body could use a little break. I try not to drink monday through thursdays just for the heck of it or else I’d be downing some wine everday.
O: That you would think I have the salt for a strongman competition is incredibly flattering!! I did help my buddies move two bitching sofas a couple of weeks ago and had to carry them on my shoulders to go up the steps… You know, I might just look into that. As for my bench I can usually eek out 2-3 reps from my 135lbs. Benched 140lbs once for a 1 rep max. But I’ve been stuck at this weight since february. On the other hand I’ve been focusing on other things such as squats, deads and the dreadfull pullup.
N., kicking ass on those deadlifts! Yeah! I don’t know about you, but I’ve found that if one of my lifts is going well, then the others suck. Maybe someday the universe will let us have a great squat/dead/bench all at the same time!
I had a lovely dinner out last night (chicken breast stuffed with fontina cheese, proscuitto and wild mushrooms) but really noticed that this restaurant put alot of salt in their food. Your restaurant hopping dinner was clearly better.

This is the challenge of a powerlifting meet. Being able to hit decent numbers for all three lifts on the same day!
Kimba: totally agree and I guess I can wrap my head around that when I remind myself it’s for the long haul.
Snap: hitting your 1 rep max in all 3 lifts in 1 day must totally drain powerlifters. I tip my hat to you all.
T: Hey your’re back! don’t be a stranger and don’t get all hung up on weight and food. I’m a curvy (read all hips) 150lbs. No small fry here and still pretty proud of my gains and my looks. I said it before - I live to eat good stuff. It’s one of my top pleasures in life and I refuse to deny myself in order to conform to some image. ok end rant. Come again!
Cbear: always a nice surprise when you drop by. My cat is declawed on all 4 paws and has learned that I’m the boss. Not her. Although she still gives me attitude, she gets it. And I would not stand for peeing in my shoes when I know the litter is clean. I’m all for a sharp spank on the butt for a reprimand with her nose in it to know why I’m pissed. Disapporiving Kitty would not last long in my country. Maybe it’s for the best that I don’t have kids? Rules just make for better communal living. And trust me she still is spunky one.
squat day - fabulousness! (I needed one of those. Maschy: Maybe if your rub on me you can pick up a bit of the glitter darlin, I know you need a little pick-me-up.

wow! I need to keep up with the squats…
It’s like I get to a certain point and then I back off…not sure why I do this! [/quote]
If your eating is “diet mode” I’m not expecting you do be hitting a bunch of PR’s MIM. I thought you were doing a lot of metabolic stuff. I’m still learning my squat and the progression shows.

Thanks Joe, it’s like the pieces of the puzzle are finally fitting together. I get depth and breathing (big gulp, holding breath for the dive, push out with effort) today was keeeping back tight, bar low, and keeping the walkout tight and clean. Sometimes I fidget and take like half a dozen steps which drains me. Eventually I’ll have all the peices and I’ll rock the house.
And thanks for reminding me about ‘diet mode.’ Although I do try and add reps/weight each week to progress, diet or not…but you are right, when you are dieting you are not eating for ultimate strength…but then again, it’s all mental.
I’ve had some good training sessions fasted before!
i’m trying to not be a stranger N! you know my excuse for the last month or so but work is slowing down. and i’m definitely not hung up on the food or weight. i’mma curvy girl and i accept it. and you know damn well how much i love the GOOD food and vino.
another PR-aweseomeness! glad you had a great day-those are so motivating.

I know what you mean, squat always seem to be the lift where I let my concentration lapse and it always hurts my lifts.
