Sounds like it was a great weekend. Love me some lebanese BBQ (although I’m biased, being 1/4 lebanese myself).
Pics of table when it’s set up?[/quote]
I’ll show off yesterday’s vampy red pedicure against my new table. Deal?

Oh yes, deal!!
Gorgeous table, gorgeous pedi, and super nomable baby feet!
Congrats on the squat PR and bodyweight squat, that’s a big deal! Especially considering how crazy low you go in your squat now that you’ve fixed your form issues.
Edit: That home-made weighted sled pull sounds fantastic! And lol @ ‘double-double’. I used to take my coffee like that, a loooong time ago. Now it’s nothing but black.
Between the bad weather, work and the hormone therapy (add estrogen remove T) I’m having a hard time getting the motivation rolling. All I want is to sit on my sofa and read and eat. I need to get my groove back.
I’m going to the gym. Even if it’s only to lift some light stuff. There, I said it. Now I need to make it happen.
I feel ya girl - just had a case of the blahs myself. Listen to your body, if you need time, take time, if you think you can make it to the gym, even just to do “stuff” do that too!
supper: chicken breast poached in curried water, coucous and spinach. And I was still hungry - squat days do that to me all the time so I opened a can of Raincoast tuna and I’m currently eating it straight from the can. mmmm protein.
As requested here is a picture of the tools used for the plate drags. My cable has already frayed so I need an idea as to what I could use in it’s place. Anyone?
and here’s yours truly all harnessed up and ready to rock. Just so you know I actually tried dragging 4 plates because I have a huge ego but it was a no go. I had to remove a plate after the picture.
Honestly I’m on an estrogen program with T-blockers and I just haven’t felt up to anything since. I felt fantastic the month I was on nothing (to clear the blood and take some tests). I’m planning on asking the doc for some estrogen without the blockers. Hopefully we can find some middle ground. why is it the meds are often worse than the issues?
Excellent squatting! And that plate drag is freaking awesome!! I can’t remember, do you pull it from behind or drag it backwards? Either way, what an ass workout! No wonder your starving. So jealous.
Meh. Sorry to hear that your dealing with medical issues - but you sound like you got a handle on it. I already said it, but def listen to your body. Glad to hear you were up for a workout tho! That’s great.
Masch: I drag it backwards. When I push forward I do the plate pushes on a matress.
Thanks for dropping by Deb - I’m always carrying my little camera around my neices. You never know when I great photo op will show up.
Yesterday I spent the day on the road driving Montreal - Quebec City with a stop along the way. I was beat from all the driving so I spent 35 minutes doing laps at the hotel for something different. I’ll check out the hotel gym tonight.
The plate drag looks like a lot of fun. Hopefully I’ll be getting more into that again over the summer. Not necessarily plate drags but I have two tires and a sledge that I worked with last year.
tires and a sledge sigh now those are reasons why I would move out of the city - lol.
well my experience at the new hotel gym was a total fail once again. It looked like a graveyard where old cardio machines crawl to die. Tiny basement closet with no windows, no room and no air. At least this time I was the only one there. I managed to flex a few muscles using some DB and machines
machine chest press
machine leg press
machine flies
DB shoulder press
DB bicep curls
lunges - but stop short of those because my knee was twitchy - probably from all the driving and swimming.
I hardly slept the 2 nights I was away. It feels good to be home.
