Iron in the Blood

I commend you on being able to do pullups on consecutive days - and its true, you’re blasting those f*ckers, so clearly its working. I find that if i try do pullups more than 3x a week i fatigue my shoulders and I don’t get them up. Also, not sure what you’re form is like, but its helped me to remember to tense everything, especially my core, somehow that helps.

Great advice! Keeping a tight core totally helps on pull-ups.

Hope your Sunday out with your Mom is going well!

Joe: True but I was just wondering if the guys need to play “head games” once in while also or if it’s more a woman thing.

soldog: not suprised about the laziness.

Molly: That rope idea sounds totally garage. I love it. I’ll see what I can finangle at my gym tomorrow.

Masch: any video from you, shenanigans are not will be viewed with much pleasure darlin.

Blue: I forget to keep it all tight and pull with more than just shoulders. I need to activate my whole body for those. Another thing to internalize…

I’m currently enjoying a nice glass of french red wine after a “family weekend”. Friday I took my mother to an irish pub for tasty burgers (McKibbins for those in the know), saturday had a nice pedicure and raclette for supper with market fresh sausage and asparagus. Today we had libanese style BBQ at the bro’s and laughed at his 8 month old daughter clowning around. All good fun but happy to be unwinding alone with the husband now. On our way back we finally bought our kitchen table - an indian import made of 2 tone rosewood. It is fabulous! It should be delivered tonight.

now to catch up on the weekend craziness.
cheers

Sounds like it was a great weekend. Love me some lebanese BBQ (although I’m biased, being 1/4 lebanese myself).

Pics of table when it’s set up?

I’ll show off yesterday’s vampy red pedicure against my new table. Deal?

new table after shopping around for 1 year. I’m guessing we will agree on the chairs in another 12 months.

I look gorgeous against that table. Can’t wait to try it!

pics I took today at my bro’s. I just love the way they turned out!

playin footsie…

Its a foot lover’s paradise in here today.

Although after reading “raclette” I stopped thinking about anything else but melty goodness…

Beautiful! (table and little footsies)

Aww! Glad you had a great weekend! Sounds super fun and family time is always good. Especially when there’s good eats involved.

That table is spectacular - i love your apt in general! Canadia seems nice…

Lol at little chubby feet. As non-maternal as I am, pulls at my womb-strings to see wittle baby toes.

After 4 days of proper rest and plenty of food I felt ready to attack my stuff.

squats
95lbs 1x8
115lbs 1x5
135lbs 1x5
145lbs 4x2
155lbs 2x2 PR + 10lbs! bodyweight squat is done. I’m hovering around 150 these days
135lbs 1x4
115lbs 1x8

pullups 1.5,1
with bands 1x6, 2x4

hyper extensions
35lbs plate 3x8 - added weight.

wide grip cable pulldown
95lbs 2x5
85lbs 1x2
75lbs 1x8

And here’s where it gets fun. Inspired by Molly’s suggestion I managed to rig up a dip belt with some added wire and tied up to 3 45lbs plates and 1 10lbs plate so that they all lay flat on top of eachother on the floor. Then I dragged them backwards 3x the width of the gym back and fourth. Considering the high traffic I don’t think I could add speed to those but def weight. These were so garage gym cool I felt awesome. Made me fall in love with working out all over again. Thanks Molly! Now hopefully I won’t rip the carpet doing those…

cheers

WooHoo! for the squat PR and a double-double at that!

I am excited for you getting a bodyweight squat! I am absurdly jealous of your bodyweight squat. Split personality much?

We need a picture of the DIY dip belt prowler.

Excellent Squat PR! Woohoo!

And yes, we def need a pic of this home made prowler

Dog: double-double is such a canadian thing to say especially if hitting a Tim Hortons.

Kimba: the split-personality is probably due to those Dior’s. My cards say you should give em to the frenchie to get rid of bad voodoo

Masch: I’ve got a boring condo meeting that will chew up 4 hours of my life tonight and some out of town work peeps that I’m planning to have supper with on thursday so I won’t be posting any vids/pics before friday but stay tuned for the amazing brick a brack thingy.

I was juggling with the idea of buying a wagon and a dip belt and some plates as a means of taking this push/pull stuff outside during the summer. My neighbours will probably think I’m totally nutters. Bigger problem is where to store it in my tiny appartment?? maybe the bathtub…
