Iron in the Blood

Some days are like that. Days like today exist to make the good days special.

But hey! 4 good pullups! Worth getting off the sofa, for sure.

Pictures are fantastic! You look gorgeous, very leggy indeed!!

I’ve missed so much good stuff. Squats were great and way to work the pullups!

DB snatches awesome!! Must remember to do these.

Kimba: I kinda threw in the pullups between other exercises so really it looked more like
1x2 - pullups
rackpulls
1x1 -p/u
machine leg raise
1x1 -p/u

but basically I did haul my own ass 4 times in an hours.

Thanks Masch - snatches are always fun stuff

Those are some nice looking rack pulls, good work.

Nice rack pulls. Makes me a little sad I can’t do anything like that at the moment (fucked my back up).
300lbs can’t be too far away for you.

I kinda lift for the big numbers like a lot of people here Cal, I totally would be sad also if I’d have to limit myself. cross my fingers don’t want no injuries…

Hey a peep from Mr. Joe! Welcome and be amazed by my numbers - just teasin. Thanks for droppin by your welcomed anytime.

Went to see AC Milan play the Montreal Impacts last night. It was so much fun! Total score 4-1 for AC Milan and Ronaldhino scored once. Touch your screen now and I’ll impart you some of my coolness.

yesterday’s lifts:

plate pushes (thanks Shaunar!) these were tough bitches! left my legs on fire and panting like a stray dog in a dessert. Stacked the plate on a gym mat. I considered the width of my gym 1 lap.
45lbs 1x12
70 1x12
truth is I had to stop every 2-3rd lap to toss up a lung. My goal will be to work my way up without any resting.

BB bicep curls 50lbs 3x8

facepulls 35lbs 3x8 - how humbling. need to work on these

pushups on medecin ball 3x8

bench
95lbs 3x8

smith machine calf raises
135lbs 3x8

dips 3x5
supset with
declined situps holding 5lbs plate in back of head 3x12

and had corean for supper. mmm bibimpap

Those plate pushes are a great idea. Sort of like a DIY Prowler???

exactly!

Umm…yeah, you do pull BIG numbers. After doing rack pulls for the first time yesterday I realize how effing hard these are!

HAHAH! I saw that you went to the Milan game. That’s aweseome! and what a treat btw. Geting to watch Ronaldhino live is actually pretty special IMO. So jealous!! You said there were 48k peeps in the stadium? That’s a lot! So glad you had fun

Plate pushes are ridic hard - 70 on that is fantastic! I bet your buns were totally burning up. And wtg on the dips. I still find those excruciatingly hard.

MMM…Korean…LOVE bibimpap!!

Masch - I must admit those plate pushes were on a hardwood gym floor. These would have been ridic hard on carpet.

Today - 4th day in a row. trying to do as much as I can before my Mum comes over to visit for the weekend. It’s her birthday and as a gift I booked a double pedi for us- she’s never had one. This will be so much fun! There will be som fab montreal food and sunday BBQ at my bro so she can hangout with her grandaughter. sweet.

Today’s torture

pullups - man I drag my ass up so slowly no wonder I can’t knock out a 2nd.
1x1
neutral
1x1
chins
1x1
pullups with bands
2x5

clean and press
75lbs 3x with 5 presses each
85lbs 2x with 3 presses each
95lbs twice no go.
85lbs 1x1
95lbs using a bunch of little plates to fuck with ma head…1x1. I’m such an idiot.

zercher squats
75lbs 3x8

BB lunges with back foot on step
Bar 3x8 for each leg- this works on my balance

DB shoulder press 30lbs 3x6

DB bench 45lbs 3x5

supper was pasta and tuna.

Its not only you with the little-plate-problem. I do better when I load up the squat bar with 10 lb. plates. So. crazy.

Keep on training those pullups. You’ve made such great progress in a short time.

not an idiot - you got the lift!

have some fun with your mum and brudder!

plate pushes are the devil!!! I have my athletes do them when they want to feel like they have gotten their asses kicked… (but it’s nice b/c it’s so low impact and it doesn’t beat them up like crazy) Yeah… it’s kind of a secret weapon!

THAT… and super heavy backwards sled drags taking short steps if an athlete likes the “quad pump” that they get from leg extensions and keeps begging me to let them do leg extensions… I just have them do those and they are so pumped after a couple of trips that they can hardly walk. <:::insert evil laugh here::::>

Oh yeah, good work! And nice pictures! Your legs make you look so tall! =D

I hate insomnia.

Kimba glad to know I’m not the only one who can screw my my own head (go figure!) and I’m thinking the pullups felt so slow 'cause it’s my forth day in a row. Next week will be better after a weekend of resting.

hey dog! do the guys do the little plate trick or is that an intimidated estrogen thing?

Molly! thanks for dropping by superstar and I would love to drag a sled if I had anything remotely similar in my city gym. I was thinking walking with a weighted dip belt?? for some reason I have an image of a cowboy stance with a 45lbs hanging at the hips. lol. how gangsta.

Big plates, little plates … you hit the lift and thats all that matters.

I haven’t but I’ve read of some just adding 10# plates until they run out. I think they were just being lazy about unloading and reloading with bigger plates.

nlmain - well… they did just have that article about walking with a barbell on your back… you could try that! haha

OR… depending on the material of your plates and the availability of stuff at your gym… you could pile a couple of plates on top of each other, tie a long string through the middle of them to string them together, (place them on a towel, if need be) and attach the string to a weight belt. At my gym, the carpet and the weights are as such that I can drag just the plate son the carpet… but if you have to, you can place them on a towel and drag them on the basketball of racquetball courts (I have done this in gyms with rubber weights and rubber floors)… just a thought.

If all else fails… fuck it and put on a 20 lb weight vest and walk at a 10% incline at 3.5-4.0 mph for 20 minutes and then go die. =D

OOOO! Great idea Molly.

nlmain, my gym is hard wood too and i do my plate pushes on a towel. I can feasibly see doing what Molly said using some kind of band…let me play with this, but i see a video of said shenanigans in the near future.

I commend you on being able to do pullups on consecutive days - and its true, you’re blasting those f*ckers, so clearly its working. I find that if i try do pullups more than 3x a week i fatigue my shoulders and I don’t get them up. Also, not sure what you’re form is like, but its helped me to remember to tense everything, especially my core, somehow that helps.

Great work woman!
