Iron in the Blood

Hey soldog - I’m not convinced golf counts as cardio but then again I’ve never played. Golf does not count as cardio. in my case, golf counts as time in the sun goofing off with my son. (win-win)

although walking a couple of miles carrying a 50 lb pack does something…

Oh yeah, you def deserve a cocktail after that great workout.

Actually, the 40mins jog with sprints is something I would do after one of my lifting days (just 1x a week). It really made my body feel so good!

Awesome work lady!

Dominating the 135 lb. bench, I see. Nice job!

P.S. Where did the sun go?

Nice benching N!

Kimba, the sun came out to play over here today. Sorry to hog it.

Thanks Masch, Kimba and Blue. I’m happy adding reps with proper form to my 135lbs bench while I concentrate on other things such as my squat.

Had some sunshine today, nice but I’m not too bothered with the weather as this mamma is heading for Cuba this saturday where there should be mucho signor sunshine. Ola!

Ate plenty of junk food over the weekend and hadn’t hit the gym since thursday so I felt fresh and full of it today.

DB rows/krock rows

3x8 each arm

squat (shoeless)
60lbs 1x6
80lbs 1x6

135lbs 3x1 - added weight - very happy with this. Will take vid next to compare depth with last vid. Should be fun to see the difference

front squat
60lbs 1x6
75lbs 1x6
95lbs 1x3
115lbs 1x1 - added weight tough but nice.

good mornings
75lbs 3x12
superset with
pushpress
75lbs 3x5

25 minutes of the new elliptical machine (feels kinda like moon-walking)

I’m feeling nice and sore and in the perfect frame of mind to catch up with everyone’s log.

that’s a big win! it’s usually quite hard for me to pass up the perfect conditions and atmosphere for a cocktail.

holy shit you pulled 4 plates! congrats…that’s superb. nice benching and yay to french chic!

Wow! If you’re back up to 135 lb. with good squat form, that’s amazing. Good work! Isn’t it so fun to hoist those 45s onto the bar? I always feel so awesome loading those.

Looks like that was a great workout! Nice to hear your squat is feeling so much better, I can’t wait to see some new vids!

Yay for a weekend of junk food, and even more yay for your trip to Cuba! My sister just left today for Cuba for a week (the bitch!); maybe the two of you will cross paths.

HI N! Nice squatting…

How did the front squats feel after?

Excellent squatting indeed!! Good job mama.

And I’m with Snap, love you using the big girl plates

ps.I want to learn how to do these good mornings

for your viewing pleasure Masch.

Snap: it feels like a small victory now that I’m working on proper form. Squating 75lbs was not my idea of a fun time.

Blue: I’m flying to Varadero this saturday. Where’s your sister hanging out?

Mim: it was one of the crazy pukey ideas that left my legs fried. My legs probably grew overnight! lol.

T: it’s always a good time for a cocktail but in Montreal when the weather warms up a bit there is this big thing about having a drink outside in the sunshine surrounded by happy basking people. That’s what you get after being cooped up for months.

Cuba…yaay for vacation!

is the ‘new’ elliptical machine new to your gym? or is a new fancier model type thing? reason i ask is because i saw some fancy equipment out there at that really nice gym in AZ. it looked like there were 2 versions of newer ellipticals i have not seen.
i didn’t try them because i was too excited about a real stair-master (or what i thought was called a stair mill)

our stair master is lower budget version i guess, but it does the trick if you know how to use it.

and yay for the 135 squats…

Tonight I used my magic chalk to work on my rackpulls.

heavy rack pulls pegs at the knees. All my previous pulls were mid thigh so I dropped down the pegs by half.

135lbs 1x6
185lbs 1x6
205lbs 1x6
225lbs 3x1
275lbs 2x1 - I want to work my way back up to 315lbs and then lower the pegs below knees.
225lbs 3x1
205lbs 1x6
185lbs 1x6
135lbs 1x12

DB calf raise
75 lbs 3x12 for each leg
plus 1 minute hold on last rep

abs:
v crunch with 3 kg medecine ball throw
3x12

DB snatch
35lbs 3x6 for each arm

20 minutes of 5mph treadmill

T: the elleptical felt different from the old ones I always use. You could use the machine for steps or running depending on the strides you took. It felt awkward to me but then again I’ve been running on a treadmill or the old elleptical for ages so anything different feels awkward.

You are definitely killing the squats and front squats. All this and a beach vacation too? Life is clearly unfair.

I’m a very bad sister, and I have no idea what resort she’s at. :stuck_out_tongue:

I remember Montreal in the spring - the patios, so much fun!

That’s some serious rack-pulling you did there! Nice work!

DB snatch. Now there’s an exercise I haven’t done in a long time.

Have a great trip. I’m, umm, jealous. And Cuba of all places.

when are you leaving? have a safe and fun trip!!

MIM: flying this saturday afternoon and can’t wait!

Kimba: you stole all the fair points for your hot bod - can’t have it all ya know!

Blue: I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else in the world than Montreal spring through fall. The people, the food, the vibe, it’s why it’s home and we survive the winter.

Snap: I’m under the impression that americans aren’t aloud in Cuba yet, is that right? Anywho it’s usually cheap and fun in the sun.
