Hi guys,
I’ve been wondering whether or not to buy a bar like this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ND04U4?ie=UTF8&tag=toubyanipo-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B001ND04U4
The thing is, I live in a dorm where there are “fake walls”, so they’re not as strong as it should be. Another thing is, the wood above the doorway (I’m sorry, English is not my native language) is about 2cm thick (<1 inch).
Will this bar be able to hold me without breaking the wall or door? I only weigh 85kg (180lb ish)? And are there other/better bars that cost as much, or less?
Oh and on another note, the grippers for “neutral grip” are sometimes showed on the videos of the ad, but I don’t see them on the box? How are they attached, do you have to buy them separately or something?
Any help is appreciated!
I would buy one if I needed a place to hang clothes. If the walls are that flimsy, do you really want to risk puling down a doorway on yourself. It will happen, usually after a night of heavy drinking. Do you have a gym on campus that you could go to?
If you get one don’t spend more than 30dols and all grips should be in the box. Go to walmart. They’re made to support up to 300lbs, but if the walls suck, don’t risk it.
I have one…I weigh 200 pounds and it holds me. Everything is included in the box. But I don’t know why people are talking about wall strength, the go on the door.
Overall, I am happy with the purchase, since its only about $30. The only thing is that the grips start to wear off after awhile, but that wouldn’t deter me from purchasing it again.
I also saw the Iron Gym Extreme, which had more grip options.
