I just got my Inzer power pants to protect my bum hip and I?m wondering when to use them. I?ve read through all the old posts on T-Mag and couldn?t find the answer. I know to use them for box squats on DE squat day, but then do you take them off after that or wear them for all lower body work? Also do you wear them on ME squat day?
There are no rules really. I wouldnt keep them on after box squats though. They shouldnt be comfortable enough to wear for a whole workout. You can use them on M.E. day as well, but I wouldnt do it all the time. They can become a kind of crutch that causes you to lose explosiveness out of the bottom if you dont have them on. If you are feeling banged up, then by all means wear them, but if you go in and are feelin okay, then go without them. Remember that every once in a while you need to feel banged up. That is also why you dont want to do restoration all year around.
Well DE squat day came and I got a chance to try them out for the first time. What a pain in the ass to get them on. I’m not sure if they fit right. I know they should be really tight, they were very tight in the thighs but slightly loose in the waist. I had a hard time getting them all the way up to get rid of the “crotch basket”. I also had a hard time getting my stance as wide as usual but I managed to get it. I read on old threads on T-Mag to get at least one size bigger than the Inzer chart says, I weigh about 210 so I got the 38 so I hope I got the right size. I have to tell you though, I felt good coming off the box, the squats felt great. And your right, they are not comfortable to wear the whole workout so they came off right after box squats.
I think a 38 should be right. I am also 210, and I got my suit when I was 190. I have a 38 also btw.
They are going to be VERY hard to get into till you get used to it. The first time I got into my suit, it took about 30 minutes literally, mostly just trying to get it over my ass! The more you wear it, the quicker you’ll be able to get into it. Notice I didn’t say easier, just quicker.
One trick to get it up into the crotch, try lunging your leg out to the side and pull it up. Then reverse and repeat.
That’s pretty funny, it took me quite a while to get them all the way. I’ll try your tip, seems like it will help.
And my hips are already thanking me, for as much of a pain in the ass it was getting them on, I feel much better than usual after a box squat workout. Recently I’ve been getting some extreme soreness and tightness in my left hip, but I feel fine today after yesterday’s box squats.
