I Will No Longer Post in This Forum

Let me put it another way (if you’re still lurking here).

Your decision to leave is yours. Your reasons are your own. But consider the impact your decision has. Do you post here merely to fulfill a selfish need for attention? Or do you feel that what you post CONTRIBUTES to the greater good this forum provides? If it’s the latter, you need to check your ego at the door and return to continue your contribution (which contains valuable info), and keep up the good fight on behalf of bodybuilding.

I’m not begging, but I hope you reconsider.

Well said. Sorry for the harsh comments. I’m just sick of people whining on internet boards. If you don’t want to post somewhere then don’t. There’s no need to advertise.

Background on me. I’ve posted since 2001 at anabolex. Before that was at Al Shaw’s Mass Factory. My name there was RAZA-BLADE I train a few off season professional athletes, and my job requires me to travel througout the U.S. on a regular basis, but I reside in Canada. I don’t claim to be a guru of any kind, but feel confident in my knowledge of everything from bodybuilding history, to training for various sports. Not trying to rub anyone the wrong way, but suck it up and deal with seeing posts that don’t always entertain you. These forms should not be for showing off for attention, but for sharing information and helping one another no matter what the final goal. If what you see doesn’t interest you, then move on.

That may be true when it comes to individual posts, but when the entire forum begins to get filled with people acting as if bodybuilding is a negative it makes perfect since to combat it head on. Otherwise, the board becomes a lame Weight Watchers forum if no one speaks up.

Speaking up has forced this place to remain on topic. About a year ago, you couldn’t even discuss bodybuilding in this forum because several people would ruin any discussion to tell us that big muscles are icky.

Why not just leave that to the moderators, or the people who run this site to deem what is appropriate and what is not. If it bothers you then maybe these complainers should find a private forum.

I like the moderation over at IM. Absolutely no bs, morons get banned immediately and no myspace avatars unless you have managed to get actual results and/or have a competition pic of yourself…

You seem lost as to what has transpired here. I don’t even feel like digging up the threads to get you up to speed. Just know that if we had not made a huge issue of this and PERSONALLY stepped up to confront many of these issues, this very forum you are posting in would be much different than it is now.

It is because we spoke up and confronted these jokers that the bodybuilding forum now actually focuses on bodybuilding again.

The moderation here was NOT weeding out the “anti-bodybuilding” crap that was filling this forum before the T-Cell was created.

The needs to be the forum equivalent of a stocks like back in the 1700s where one is locked in for a day and everyone can ridicule him for this “anti-bodybuilding” mentality.

If one doesn’t like bodybuilding, fine. Just don’t post here. Most of the hatred of bodybuilding stems from making no progress in the gym, I think.

Just ignore the trolls. Here’s a thought. If the post something dumb… scroll over it and imagine it doesn’t exist. Afteer a while, the trolls will get bored, and stop.

I will never understand why bodybuilding forums seem to attract so many people who don’t like bodybuilding. That has to be a phenomenon localized to this one activity.

What’s to understand, Doc?
Deep-set insecurities often manifest themselves in fear, denial, dismissal, and sometimes destruction.

That’s one very good point you’re making there…

…but their own mentality is why they aren’t making progress.

it’s a disturbing trend. When this whole internet forum thing started, it seemed to be mostly private boards that you needed to be invited to join. Since the internet as a whole has blown up over the years, there seems to be absolute retards on these boards and it gets annoying but there isn’t much that can be done if they are public forums.

Kind of like some of us did at some Quilting Forum a while back. LOL Those ladies didn’t know what hit 'em… until later.

Cheeta on a side note… have you ever considered trying to model? I know that at least around here in socal you’d have people hitting you up for jobs all the time.

FWIW I like the fact that you’d be a powerlifter over a model :stuck_out_tongue: lol jk

DG

LOL no not really, but its in my coaches game plan to get something like that going for publicity since I guess it somewhat goes against the norm of powerlifter…at least im on a “cutting diet” now so will see  Ill at least take it as a compliment !
well that pic you have in your avatar is amazing…and the fact that you powerlift as more makes you THAT much more attractive :stuck_out_tongue: lol jk

That’d be cool if you could become ‘the’ or at least ‘a’ face that represents female powerlifting or weightlifting in general.

Great avatar, Gerdy. Buy why the face off?
thanks man.

Well I was tired of recieving messages of people questioning why I bodybuild as if it is out of the norm on this site to want to look like dennis wolf .vs. brad pitt.

I also got tired of dimwits coming into seemingly every thread just to argue.

On top of that some of the regular posters have gone from contributors to just smart asses themselves.

I wanted to get a reaction and honestly see if there were enough people in this thread worth hanging around…once I saw there was I wanted to see if I can rally people up to at least change what is expected of this forum.

I like tnation and I wanted a bodybuilding forum…it doesn’t have to be a competitive bodybuilding forum, but at least one where the serious can come to.

I know there will always be ‘trolls’ or whatever you want to call them, but being a person that just sits back and does nothing about it lets them run rampant through the forum. You can’t just ignore something and hope it goes away.

I wanted to see if we could change the attitude of this forum with the vets here.

It’s because I see what little tolerance there is in the roid forum and I believe it’s because the vets don’t take any shit from the bozo’s that post there.

I think we can do the same.

Also I always appreciate your advice, wisdom, and words Iron Dwarf.

You should have seen the “I don’t wanna be huge” and how to lose some muscle threads. Oh yeah, lets not forget the “workout to improve my frisbee competition” thread.

Totally agree. The only thing that feeds a troll is a response. Ignoring a troll is the only way to make them go away. No other solution will work unless you plan on having a bunch of private forums like T-Cell (…which doesn’t work either).

Some of these dim lights aren’t trolls. They are confused. They are the types who log on talking about combat pyramids in a bodybuilding forum. When you have 50 people like that, “ignoring” it will simply lead to a forum filled with “I don’t wanna be huge” threads.

exactly my point!

We don’t need to ignore stuff anymore but correct things with as little confrontation needed until the forum gradually shifts to see whats ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ for the forum.
