I Will No Longer Post in This Forum

So what was that first post of yours in this very thread about again?
Sounded pretty disrespectful to me.

You defend some dumb troll like NP and act like it would be a loss if he left, but do the opposite with Gerdy?

And you even dare to mention logic ?

Frankly, I don’t care what anyone else might think about my opinions, etc. I am not going away.

If you didn’t care, you wouldn’t be responding.

I do not usually respond to purposefully disrespectful posts but I have no problem trying to clarify my ideas or reiterate. Whether you agree with me or not is not really under my control…therefore it is of no use for me to care. Is that clear enough.
If you don’t care stop fucking replying with the same shit and let’s talk BB as opposed to going round in circles for the next few weeks.

Also I second the fact that I also value the input of DG. W/O ppl like himself this site would not be what it is, and be highly ineffective as a source of quality info on BB, PL, nutrition and all things “testosterone”.

OK guys your going to think I’m pure genious or your going to hate me…either way doesn’t matter. lol

I made this thread because I want to change this forum for the good. YES I agree lately it has been ‘ok’ but not great. I get tired of people coming to a bodybuilding forum just to argue, and recieving messages JUST to argue.

I want to make a stand and I would like those of you who are bodybuilders to follow. Don’t just ignore a troll when they come in here, make the demeanor one where it is expected that people act a certain way.

For example, in the steroid forum we get trolls quite often, but the general outlook by the vets, etc and their demeanor fixes those problems asap. The thread has certain ‘unwritten’ rules that the average reader/poster follows or they know they will get zero assistance.

This forum is different, however, it seems that every thread has debates about random bullshit that doesn’t matter that sparks up and people just fuel that fire for the sake of having nothing better to do. lol

I made an aggressive almost bitching post to see what the general outlook or demeanor of this thread was and if you just read the comments you can see what I mean. I expected the first few smart ass comments, then the typical joking lets poke fun at the OP comments, and then the meat and potatoes, the people who are an asset to the forum (x, iron dwarf, etc) and it paints a picture as to what the general demeanor of the forum really is.

I plan to curb my posts to those who really wish to discuss intelligent topics or truly need help. I am not trying to be cocky but I feel I am one who helps more than recieves info. I do this because that’s my nature…I don’t like to jump on a flame wagon, but help people who want and ask for help. We were all new and stupid at one point, the difference is were you willing to listen to the big SOB in your gym or did you argue with him?

When your trying to help and people bash you and argue with your help it’s pointless and you may as well disappear.

It’s a long shot and I’m sure nothing will happen, but I wanted to try and with the help of vets, and serious weightlifters/bodybuilders…we can come on here and change the attitude this forum has.

No more smartass stupid flames, just assistance, confrontations and arguments will happen but lets be somewhat mature about it…if somebody comes on here with topics or posts that are irrelevant to true bodybuilding then tell them to leave.

Well by now your thinking this guy is crazy and nothing will happen but it doesn’t really matter I’m just some faceless fool on the ‘interweb’ :stuck_out_tongue: lol!

HAPPY LIFTING!

DG

I love the responses that are basically saying “You’re a pussy if you don’t want to put up with shit-talking assholes.”

That’s absolutely ridiculous - who the fuck wants to sit there and listen to some worthless fucking windbag derail a good discussion under the auspices of “constructive debate” and “differing opinions”?

As if it’s a fucking requirement to always make sure you make your mark in a thread with your contrary opinion. Seriously, I can understand DG getting irritated.

Just because you have an opinion, doesn’t mean you need to constantly air it. I love how the Internet has given everyone such an air of superiority about their precious opinion, as if it’s their God-given right to constantly be an argumentative toolbag in any discussion that strikes their fancy - even if they have no interest or actual constructive input to add to the thread.

Yea, the day I’m a pussy because I don’t care to suffer fools in my life - that’ll be the day.

Yea dood it’s that stuff that I want to get rid of. I just couldn’t think of a better way to get peoples attention then to whine about not posting anymore. lol

I don’t mind people voicing their opinions or even disagreeing as long as it’s constrictive to the thread and not just ‘oh yea well I don’t squat an you do so your a fag’ yea ok didn’t help at all, but if somebody said ‘I don’t squat because (enter good reason here) and this (enter whatever here) works better’ then so be it…it’s positive.

Another funny thing is how somebody can post something like I did about not wanting to post anymore and get a thousand responses but now that I give the real reason for the thread I get hardly any now…whats up? No argument so no play?

It’s the same thing with real threads, you click on everything and most of them are filled more with flaming and immature jokes than actual constructive advice/criticism/behavior.

I doubt that anything can change, but maybe if we all had a particular attitude or demeanor for others to follow then we can get somewhere. lol

RJ who doesn’t seem to post much anymore shows up to any thread and people either argued or played by his rules…same goes with X…well if we all have similar ideals then the thread will gradually shift that way.

Shepherds and sheep.

i def agree, the steroid forum kinda boots out those trolls and very few ever stick around (howiefelcooch or whatever) lol… i think if everyone just stopped debating with the dumb asses and ignoredn them. They will eventually give up right? (optimistic thinking?)

I am not acquainted at all with Gerdy’s posts other than this one. Anyone who takes the time to say, “I quit,” on the internet is just crying for attention. Besides, I was only agreeing with the poster I happened to respond to and did not disrespect the former, nor was my comment directed at him since he has apparently left for good.

Shit, at least NP had something different to say – even if I don’t agree with much of it.

As far as logic goes, I do not see where there is anything wrong with my reasoning.

Yes that could work(in theory), however due to human nature someone will ALWAYS reply to some dumbass post.
But, definitely I share you’re views and would love to see ppl posting simply for the right reasons as opposed to just throwing up a post and hope to catch a bite.
However, there are far too many ppl in the world with far too much time on their hands…
LIFTICVSMAXIMVS wrote:

Of course not. You are simply someone who is not into bodybuilding…logging into a bodybuilding forum…to debate bodybuilding with people who do bodybuild…yet taking the stance that you need to teach us something as if NP (a troll on MANY different boards as well as this one) is such a guru that we need listen to someone who has made little to no progress over YEARS.

Nope, nothing wrong there at all.

egnatiosj, think about what we do in the steroid forum. They may get flamed, but its done in a manner that doesn’t keep eggin the troll on…then everybody just ignores them if they still don’t get it.

Here people will flame and have nothing to do with the topic.

I think that if/when a troll posts they should be shown their wrong and then be left.

Instead of ‘your a pussy’ that doesn’t do anything…tell them what they are doing wrong and if they are still thick headed then just leave em be.

The one thing I noticed different than the roid forum and here is that a troll in the roid forum has to make his own thread…very seldom does a douchebag actually come in on a thread and start shit…whereas here little people make troll threads, but insist on f*cking up the good threads we have going.

Also, Austin Bicep and Iron dwarf posted some good bodybuilding related threads lately.

This is an internet forum, people can post what they want where they want it…i guess thats the thing that involves you getting pissed off but thats also the beauty of it to some extent, when it comes down to it bodybuilding and beeing a bodybuilder is maybe not the same (what do i know im a powerlifter so i assume im not really allowed to post here anyways) but this forum is also named “Bodybuilding” not “Competative Bodybuilding”.

Word. Especially since it is so easy to just ignore the detractors.

People who are easily flusterd by words written on the internet aren’t usually even worth having a discussion with anyway.

No loss.
yep, you guys are right. a bodybuilding forum losing a member that is an ACTUAL bodybuilder, and has a wealth of knowledge to give.

no loss at all.

Wait a second, all I said was NP’s post was good and called out the people who actually wrote disrespectful shit or failed to refute it. I could care less if you agree. You don’t and that is cool but you didn’t refute it either. That is the end of subject on that.

Whether you think he’s a troll or not doesn’t really mean anything toward the validity of his arguments.

Cheeta on a side note… have you ever considered trying to model? I know that at least around here in socal you’d have people hitting you up for jobs all the time.

FWIW I like the fact that you’d be a powerlifter over a model :stuck_out_tongue: lol jk

Problem is that for mainstream modeling…where the money is they don’t want women to have any muscle really or abs or anything like that. I know this because my GF used to do modeling and her agent told her she kind of had to make a choice because she likes to lift and wants to build muscle and wants actual abs, etc and that’s not what most clients want for mainstream modeling. She could move toward fitness modeling but there isn’t much money in that apparently according to her agent.

This was like a year ago or so, she quit modeling and stuck to working in title instead. Now she’s considering going back to it, but again is worried about the fact that she has muscle and she would have to let herself get too skinny to be successful at it.
