You may find this one a little more ‘wow’. http://www.T-Nation.com/tmagnum/readTopic.do?id=639361

Bruno, where the fuck are you?

Have faith -

I guess I’m not the best day-to-day updating post, but here’s what’s been going on the last week or so.

I have gotten on a pretty good routine walking the 3 mile trail every morning. I now wake up at 4:30 and go straight there. The 3 miles at first was really hard to do, but I’m actually feeling good afterwards now. I’m having a bit of problems with blisters on my feet, but I think a new pair of shoes may help that.

As far as diet, I still am not on any particular plan. I have not been eating fast food, and have pretty much cut out sugar and most starches from what I eat at home. Lots of meat, fruit, even some vegetables here and there. Lots of soup. Sandwiches with whole wheat bread, which I like whole what anyways and always have preferred that over white.

I’m down to 330, give or take a couple pounds. I’ll weigh myself again Monday and give an exact total.

I haven’t spent much “play” time on the internet lately, that’s why I haven’t been posting. But I will make an effort to give more updates.

I am really surprised that so many people are watching and hoping I succeeed. It’s a really good feeling, and I thank you all.

Good job, just keep it up. Right now its just about moving your body around and keeping your diet clean and eating less per meal but more frequently.

keep up the good work mate 10 lbs is a good loss.

take care of those feet too buddy, when your buying your shoes get them fitted by someone who knows what they are doing and also knows what you want to do while wear ing the shoes. also spend as much as you can on a good brand, who make a quality product. personaly i like asics they suit my feet and although they are a bit pricey they do a good job.

Some good heavy weight socks will help prevent blisters too. If you’re anywhere near an REI (or other outdoor / camping store) pick up some medium-heavy weight hiking socks and wear them when sizing your new shoes.

If the blisters aren’t healed and you’re dying to go for a walk you can put a bit of antibiotic ointment on them and cover 'em with duct tape. Sounds nuts but I know a bunch of hikers who swear by it.

Smartwool socks. No others compare.

And shoes that fit. No movement around heel and arch, plenty of room in the toe box.

Def new shoes and socks, also getting thin sock liners will help wick away sweat, so it won’t chaffe so much.

Did we loose this guy?

No. Read the thread.

Instead of walking this morning, I went to the gym at my apartment complex. I didn’t do any particular routine, really I spent half my time figuring out how to use some of the machines. And I banged the hell out of my head getting underneath the bench bar, but so be it.

I’m bouncing off the fucking walls with energy today. It’s kind of weird. I’m all hyper and shit.

Thanks to everyone with their advice about the blisters. I got some new socks and am going to go this weekend shoe shopping.

Well, that’s about it for now. I’ll post again in a few days.

Hmmm…half the time figuring out how to use the machines - that must have burned about 1000 Cals. and then Banging your head sitting down…another 1000…that’s one hell of a workout Bro!

Your problem is one of organization…and your health and appearance are directly related to this laziness. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. People don’t plan to FAIL…They FAIL to plan!

I’m tired of following this thread…Good Luck Bruno!

I’ve walked more in the last couple of weeks than I’ve probably walked my entire life. I’ve dropped over 10 pounds in those two weeks by changing my eating habits, as I’ve expressed in other post. But this morning, I decide to go check out my apartment’s gym for the first time since I’ve lived here, and since I am not too familiar with gym equipment, you’re ragging on me for not burning 1000 calories?

Fuck you.

What the fuck have you done, bitch? I don’t give a shit about you’re advice and I don’t give a shit if you ever follow this thread again.

I don’t even really know what the hell you’re up my ass for. Everyone else posting has been giving me good advice as far as what to eat and socks and shoes, and out of nowhere you decide to tell me what’s what?

Again, fuck you.

dont let him bother you. also is your name bruno? I myself am on a diet/training program. i was 258 at christmas. i am currently down to 234. Looking to take it down to 200.

Just dont be afraid of the gym in your building.

Relax Bruno, G-men is an idiot. Losing 10 pounds, committing to walking, changing your diet…all that shit is a big accomplishment. It might seem like small potatoes to some, but everyone starts off with these kinds of accomplishments. However, if you stick to it they’ll snowball.

Some people are just naturally negative and will want to stunt your progress. You need to just accept that…anyone that takes on a challenge like this will face some adversity. People are going to question your character and commitment. Bottom line…fuck it, just keep doing what you’re doing, because it’s working.

Bravo, this is precisely the response that post merited. Personally I’d have stopped right here, I don’t think his comments were really worthy of any more of a response. It never ceases to amaze me that just when someone begins to make progress some twerp sidles out of the woodwork and tries to tear them down.

Hey Bruno, someone that was in your shoes:

It probably has already been stated. This life changing decision must come from within not from exterior motives.

It’s been said already, but great job on those ten pounds! You’d be surprised how easy getting to 20 and more will be. Everyone goes through the same thing the first time they get into the gym, so don’t let anyone bring you down for it.

A little tip for your workouts to make an easy transition into a bit of weightlifting, start with the big muscle groups first; your back, chest and thighs specifically. Keep the volume low, something like a warm up set and two working sets of 8-10 reps. After two weeks you’ll be amazed and just about addicted to how good you feel after a workout.
