I Want to Reach a 3xbw Squat

Haha. Holy shit. This is pure gold.

So what you’re telling me is that a loosely defined group of muscles that comprises the ENTIRE backside of the body and a large amount of total muscle mass is responsible for a great deal of power output? Holy fucking revelations Batman!

OP, in my opinion (which doesn’t count for much on this subject because I can barely even jump rope) the three things required for improving your jumping would be 1) higher limit strength 2) greater ROF development and 3) improved jumping technique. This is all obvious stuff, and that’s why I feel confident posting it. However, I do not feel confident using any metaphors involving meat. That’s just weird.

I understand 2B is a fuckwit, but you rag on him for posting the obvious, then post the obvious yourself… in the same post.

Well done.

also: (for squat and jumping while helping your team)

how do you play defense on a dribbler?

(this may be the most beneficial thing in basketball for developing your body and it also develops your other parts of your basketball game like jumping and it helps your weight room numbers and other sports too)

WHILE GUARDING A DRIBBLER TRY THIS:

1.) your butt should be lower than your knees
2.) your butt should be this low the whole time
3.) your butt should be this low while changing directions even and hurrying laterally to stop your man from dribbling by you
4.) your butt should basically be hanging by your quad strength suspended just off the ground to accomplish this low position (look at pictures of Mugsy Bogues playing defense…his butt is almost touching the ground)

5.) this makes your reach laterally maximized at ball level and makes you harder to dribble around…it also makes your able to stop fastest

6.) once your quads get used to it you will be able to guard anyone too

My main point for ragging on him was the “posterior chain” comment and the bullshit percentages that he threw out there with it.

Like I said, I know 2B’s a fuckwit and pulls shit out of his ass. Those percentages, for example.

It doesn’t change the fact that you called him out for stating that the posterior chain (AKA, the majority of the muscles in your body) are responsible for producing high amounts of force, then went on to state the obvious yourself.

If you’re going to include calling out the bullshit percentages in your “main point”, then you might want to include that in your post to begin with.

Again, well done.

The most astonishing part about this thread is that over an hour has gone by since my original post, and your other half hasn’t jumped in to defend you.

Detty has been very busy lately.

Who the fuck are you again?

The most amazing part about your entire presence on this board is exactly how little you contribute. I would have thought that after 5 years of training and “achieving” a 405 lb deadlift recently, you would have very keen insights on training. Oh wait, nevermind.

Do you seriously think “having muscle is important for jumping high” is equivalent to “increase limit strength, ROF development, and technique to jump higher” are on the same level of obvious?

I gave my input and I have no interest in hijacking this thread any further. Unless you have any meaningful input to the topic at hand, you should do the same. You can go back to your pathetic e-flirting and bragging about how you “train” at Supertraining now.

Keep talking, dickfor.

I’ve been training for strength for the past 4 months, and for what it’s worth, I just did 413/297/440 at 165 this past weekend, in single ply gear.

What are your numbers? I’ve never seen them posted here… And how long have you been training at a hardcore gym?

I’ve also never “bragged” about training anywhere.

Wait, there’s more to lifting weights other than getting bigger and stronger? Seriously? Orly, you must tell how you got bigger while not upping the weight, but then again you lift in the 165’s… I can more than vouch for stronghold to lift you numbers and then some RAWDAWG all the way back last October when we did a meet together, and he was only training for “strength” for this meet in a mere 6 weeks. In other words, he lifts more than you raw than you do in single ply. Isn’t that sad?

P.S. don’t ever try to communicate with me via facebook, you’re a tool. kthxbai.

I lift in a F6 Bench Shirt, and only bench 297lbs in it…

…I lift weights… like serious I do.

I’ll gladly eat my words when you come up with official meet results for his raw total from October.

That said, considering his 425 box squat in suit bottoms in the “feel free to brag thread” and his 365 shirted one board press, 6 weeks ago, I just don’t see it.

I didn’t realize that box squatting with a specialty bar was the same as a competition squat. Last time I saw him bench in his shirt, 365 was still part of his warm ups.

Hmm, my best box squat with a straight bar with suit bottoms is 650, but by golly when I use a specialty bar like a Camber Bar, it drops to 580, weird isn’t it?

Funny thing about the Katana Bench Shirt, it’s probably the hardest shirt to learn, but the payoff is huge. It can make tomtom’s Bench go from a 365 one board, to a 410 one board in couple weeks.

For his raw numbers, I have no idea where to look for them online, so he can do that for you.

You mean these numbers? Where he squatted 365, benched 245, and deadlifted 405 at 198?

I’m done with you lying sacks of shit.

And BG, I never said a competion squat was the same as a cambered bar box squat. With the current numbers, though, I found it hard to believe he totaled higher than me, raw, last october. …and I was right.

I’m not saying I’m anything special, but you talk a lot of shit for a guy who can’t bench 300 in a shirt.

I’ve put up 315 in training.

297 was my opener. Missed 325 twice.

But I guess those are just my E-stats, so they don’t really matter.
