maybe if I buy the vid and then edit it.

they don’t allow video cameras at the show only pics…if I get one yes, if not I’ll be posting pics for sure.

DG

Count me in. As big as possible naturally… and then we’ll see.

I figure it’d be nice to know how often and how much you guys who want to get big train, eat and sleep, so all the puny bastards can light the fire under their asses and go beast mode in the gym starting tommorow.

For me it’s about 45-60 minutes per session, each muscle hit once per week, 5 workouts per week.

I train completely by instinct. I have an idea going into the gym what muscle I’m going to hit and than everythnig after that is done by feel.

I eat frequently. Not all of it is healthy, but I stuff my face constantly. If not at the gym, school, or work, Im home eating lol, and alot at that. My diet does need work though. I think I can tweak it to get alot more out of it. I have about 350-450 grams of protein each day.

Sleep wise, I get at least 8 hours of sleep on most nights. There are a few nights where I either have trouble sleeping, or because of school being early I can’t sleep in. Other than that I’m set.

Let’s here some other peoples daily shit.

Mine sounds basicly like yours. Constantly putting food in my mouth (except now cuz I’m pretty sure I’m gonna barf sometime in the next 10min)… most of it is good food. Lots of veggies, meats, good oils, omegas… Hot damn. I don’t count my calories anymore like I was, but I got a basic idea.

Doing a 5 day split right now, but I’m thinkin about changing it up. Not sure what I’m gonna do in the new year, all I know is that I REALLY need to get my arms to catch up with my body. Because my arms are pure ass shit.

Right now I doing West Side for Skinny Bastards 3 because it allows me to fit in practice sessions for a physical I’ve got to take for the Fire department in a few days. Once I get that out of the way, I might go back to a 5 day split or I might keep doing what I’m doing as long as I’m making progress.

I eat 5-7 meals or snacks a day. It might be 5 big meals (1000+ calories), or it might be 3 big meals + 4 snacks (approximately 500 calories). It depends on my schedule. I get about 1.5 grams of protein per pound of bodyweight a day. Trying to up that, but protein is expensive.

I like to give myself 9 hours for sleep. I probably won’t sleep that whole time, but I lay down turn the lights out and relax, and sleep as much as I can.

Great Post, Add me to the list Bro big is my goal Gammarayz!

A huge man had arrived. His square shoulders barely fitted through the doorways. … He had a belt on that was twice as thick as the cinch of a horse, and his presence gave the quaking impression of a seismic terror."

The character described here, as well as Porthos from the Three Musketeers, are inspirations for my goals.

I want to be big - thinking a lean 90-95kg (200-210 lbs.) - but anything bigger than that would probably be overkill for my height (5"9).

People focus too much on numbers, and numbers mean nothing in bodybuilding. I am sure there are quite a few people who are 210 lbs at 5% body fat, just like Frank Zane. However, they are not Frank Zane. I have seen bodybuilders that some might consider small, but up close their muscles had a certain fullness, roundness and quality to them that cannot be expressed in numbers. When they posed it seemed as if their muscles were about to explode. This comes from years and years of training. I have also seen bigger bodybuilders, very impressive indeed, but these smaller bodybuilders are as impressive, though in their own way. (In a competition they won’t stand a chance, though)

Arnold, without a shadow of a doubt has this muscle quality as well. He was most certainly not a small man, and would impress any of you if you saw him in person in his prime. (Although I may give the impression, I have never seen him in his prime)

Size being size though, I definitely do not think that with the crowning of Dexter Jackson as Mr. O. a new era in bodybuilding has begun. Jay Cutler was off, which is why he lost. I think if he would have come in condition he would have prolonged his reign. A big man, who is proportionate and conditioned will, I think, always beat the smaller man. There is a tremendous amount of talent in bodybuilding today, but nothing the likes of Coleman or Yates. As soon as one of those comes along again, well you will see what will happen.

Haha your posts are great…I train 4 days mon, tues, thurs, fri. I usually train really heavy and when i get to the isolation work, up the volume a tad, so nothing out of the norm. I usually train with a specific set/rep scheme and split in mind granted other variables can affect ex. selection on a given day but i typically use the same movements for about 5 weeks to really track strength and weekly weight progression.

As far as eating, I consume about 350-375g protein, 150-180g of fat, and about 200-250g carbs (usually first three meals of the day). I am taking a different approach to mass than I have before, utilizing targeted carb feedings and it seems to be working out alright. I would say I follow Berardi’s 90% compliance with how clean I eat. I eat every 2-2.5 hours after waking until I go to bed, so about 7 meals a day.

GO BIG OR GO HOME

I’m 5’10 and have been as high as just over 290lbs (132+Kg), off season shape of course. Believe me, a lean 230 (104Kg) or so is probably still not “overkill” for you. You don’t know what your arms or delts will look like at 210… If they are lagging, then you may need to bring them up and that will be another 15-20 lbs (possibly)… Or other bodyparts…

I’d rather focus on just getting stronger for reps/bigger until you’re actually satisfied (ha) with the way you look.
Some guys have great muscle-shape/bellies and look better than you at the same or a lighter bodyweight (with the same amount of bodyfat and the same height)… You can only train and see

A lot of people are puzzled by why their is a desire to increase muscle mass, shit like 99% of the fuckin population doesn’t have a clue. I suppose they all want to be average. Who the fuck wants to be average, atleast that is how I feel.

I am glad that their are SOME people on this site that feel the same way. I get asked all the time “why do you want to be big?” My usual response:

“Life’s to short to be small”

lol or like the tshirt

‘because being small, weak, and puny really sucks!’

DG

The way I see it, people are already going to feel inferior looking at me, I don’t need a t-shirt that says it too. Could just be a difference in mindset.

On a side note, how are you looking/feeling ~2 days out? Hope you rock it at your show man.

If you google bodybuilding shirts you’ll find it. I came across it.

I know man it’s not something I’d wear but I did find it funny. lol I have a friend who is 5’10" 260 and he has a shirt with a smiley face that says ‘im big your small have a nice day’ lol

thanks man I’ve started carb loading today and so far am VERY happy…we shall see…shaving tonite…

sleeping/restin/carb loading/water depleting tomorrow

then tanning/weighing/winning on sat ;D

I’ll never be satisfied.

For myself:

5 day split that I run continuously through out the week, meaning No off days. I don’t need them. (Ironically though I have decided to take today off b/c we had a dead leg war at work last night and I planned on squatting today, not gonna happen lol, I’m such a hypocrite!)

I have a certain number of exercises that I will always do for that muscle group but once those are done I just let my instinct take over and basically do whatever looks good hah.

As for food I’m currently eating 7-10 meals a day, around 6000-6200 cals. Thank God for the school buffet!

Great thread for some extra motivation! after some injuries that have held me back from my goals I am back it. I am ready to get to hit the gym again and start getting huuuge!

I’m in,

My current goal is 220lbs, sitting at 180 or so at the minute, just recently added 30lbs after illness. Been a muscular 250lbs before - crazy strong but didnt feel great (back pumps, sleep apnea and calf cramps arent pleasant lol!. I looked my best at 220lbs at 5’8".

Its a simple process, progressive voluminous training, progressive voluminous nutrition. The only thing that limits you is you!
