How People React to Your Body?

Maybe you were a fatty that lost weight or possibly a skinny dude that got swole. Either way, your body went through an amazing transition to wherever you are now. Your friends and family definitely noticed the changes in your body.

“You’re getting big.”
“Look at those arms!”

etc.

Some people may joke around by calling you
‘muscles.’

What are the more interesting/entertaining things people have said regarding your new muscles or just your physique in general?

Adding on, how have people reacted to your body overall and do people treat you differently now?

I’ve been nicknamed Conan, Hulk and Little Lou as in Lou Ferrigno. When I worked construction everyone always asked me to help them lift heavy shit. It happened so much I just told every one I had a bad lower back. I got more looks from women but some thought I was too big. Also people are less likely to start shit with me. This worked good when I was a bouncer. Oh ya I was accused of being on steroids a few times (I’m not).

When you carry around more than average muscle mass, most people will say one of two things: “genetics” or “steroids.”

I was the fat guy that got a little skinnier. I’m not lean or tiny now, i’m still a pretty thick guy at 6’2".

As far as how people react: it depends on the people. I do know that I got in a girls pants first semester last year that I never could have pulled up 50 pounds heavier. I think I entered a lot of women’s minds as more of a relationship prospect rather than just a guy friend–I do have a lot more female friends now that before. As far as guys go, it depends. On of my friends called me “fucking intimidating” which is ridiculous at 190ish and 6’2"–I’m not intimidating. A lot of people noticed, but I don’t get too many outright statements. Just a few compliments here and there.

treated different? Probably. I think I portray a better self image in interviews etc. That’s mainly due the boost in self confidence from the body change. Mentally I’m different as a result of the physical transformation, and it’s not a bad thing.

A cop that pulled me over didnt believe it was me in my license picture…I was a tubby 200 back then, dropped down to a skinny 150, and now am a lean 180

A gay guy said I had beautifully defined triceps. He said he wanted to work out with me. It was very creepy. In fact I got hit on a lot by dudes when I lived in Minneapolis, more than chics WTF. I like vaginas they are great thank you.

Good post

Being a very lanky 80pounder back in the day i get a lot of WOW dude u sure have bulked up.

Being 70 pounds heavier does that

When i was skinny = No girls

Put on all my size and the woman come out in packs.

The comment i get most is what are those things on top of your shoulders.I say traps, they say what are…traps?

I started out around 300lbs a little over a year ago, right now im at 210. I still have around 30lbs to lose though. I worked at a video store where people wouldnt come in for a month or two and ask if I was a new person. After I told them I had been there two years they would freak out and ask wtf happened to me.

I get good responses from friends, but some people just hate on me man its ridiculous.

Some people just dont understand. When I first started working out and watching EVERYTHING i ate, my girlfriend at the time thought I had an “image disorder.” Some family members would say, “Dude youre obsessed…why dont you just relax and live life, you only live once.” blah blah.

I hate that shit because I never really know what to say. People think we just workout for aesthetics ONLY and its like, “NO DUMBASS, I plan on living past 55 and dont want heart and health problems that YOU will have at that age.”

Anyway, anyone else experience this? Some people just dont understand. They think its just some “fad.” Or you work out a couple months, and people say, “dude wheres the 6 pack man?!!” ahhhhh im getting pissed just thinking about these dumbasses.

I know this too well…and then they turn around after a while and ask for advice. A lot of people try to bring you down, because they are fucking jealous and too lazy to do anything themselves.

I’ve just had my housemates saying “you’re getting big” and making comments about “man boobs” around other people. Like I said, jealous. It’s ok though, it’s not their fault.

I once got asked if I was on steroids, which was hysterical because I weighed about 180@5’9" at the time. I’m around 205 now but haven’t had the steroid comment since I was 180.

I regularly get asked if I play rugby, or people assume that I do, it seems that the only reson for anyone being bigger than average in this country (England) is if they play rugby…

The other week some girl in a bar spent all night going on and on about my shoulders, I’ve got a gf so wasn’t interested but it was funny because my mate thinks he is the dogs danglies and was trying to pull her.

I find at the moment that I am big enough for people to notice but not so big that they automatically assume I am a meathead.

My tailor was deadly serious when he told me to stop lifting weights… as if my world revolves around him, made me chuckle!

He’s an Aussie. Metric system down there, so it’s 80 kg (= 176 lbs)

Oops, my bad. He DID say 80 pounds…

It’s actually kinda annoying when people are constantly saying “hey you look bigger” and it’s like no shit. I don’t know what they’re gonna do when I actually get big. A lot of people, like someboyd above said, think it’s some fad and that I’m gonna stop in a few months. I don’t know why wanting to be fit and above average is so unbelievable.

When I’m a bit chubby and look more powerlifterish, my athletic/ripped/bodybuilder friends tell me I’m getting fat. My powerlifting, steroid freak friends tell me I’m looking JACKED. My family tells me they’re worried about my health because I’m getting “too heavy”.

When I’m “thinner” through the midsection, my athletic/ripped/bodybuilder friends tell me I’m looking jacked. My powerlifting, steroid freak friends tell me I’m looking a litte light in the ass and to eat something. My family tells me that I’m being to obsessive with my working out/eating habits and that it isn’t healthy to deprive oneself of so many things.

All in all, I can’t win. I can’t wait to see what everyone says when I’m finally big AND shredded. I’m assuming I’ll get NO positive comments then.

Coming out of college i was 5’8 145lb ripped 8 pack guy…then after graduation and the subsequent work/life aggravation kicked in I finally started to move heavy weight and eat regularly my body weight and muscle mass sky rocketed…what did I get from friends?

“Dude you DEFINITELY took something.” Frustrating as hell especially when my reply was always, “no this is what happens when you go to happy hour every night and i go to the gym every night.”

From family, just concern from the women (mom, grandma, aunt) that I am too big and the like. I don’t sweat any of it though cause what I am doing is leading a healthy lifestyle that includes dedication to fitness, not juicing to see how many women I can get down the shore.

All in all people really don’t think that hard work and determination will net results, oh well.

I went from being 140 in highschool and up to a current 185 (flip flopping around of getting bigger/cutting down throughout the last 4 years). I’ve been accused of doing steroids (which I don’t) and my mom says I’m killing myself by taking protein shakes and other stuff like fish oil haha.

Girls seem to like it better but sometimes I get the “you’re too big” spiel. Also people are less likely to start shit with me knowing I can rip their arms out of their sockets and beat them to death with them hahaha.

It depends on the demands of the people-what they consider as big or small or average.Everyone is different on this.
I am 186cm and 90 kg.

In my opionion i am looking pretty sporty but not THAT jacked.

From some people I heard “WHAT YOU WORK OUT-REALLY??”(suck them)

Last saturday i met a girls who said,Iam already too big and balloned up-she doesn?t like it.
Some said its pretty right, not too big bot not too small.

Like mentioned before it depends on the demands-you have to be satisfied with you.
But the cooles thing to hear is:

“Damn your are too big you really look ugly its way too much, paint yourself green and you look like HULK”-you then cross the street,2 children pass by and they begin to cry…then you are really JACKED.
