Pinwheel curls- 8/30, 8/35, 8/40, 8/50, 8/60, 8/70 (couldve done more, but honestly this was my first time with this movement and was kinda testing the waters…but got bored of it lol. Will start heavier next time).

Followed OF COURSE with 30min of steady state elliptical work.

Doing back kicked my ass pretty good, and trying to not use straps for most of my work did a good job in had a good hand in my forearm work, so i basically called it there. Back and arms feel pretty damn good right now tho, so i cant complain at all.

My body aches so good. I look at my new avatar, my sweat angel, and a grin smears across my face. A simple, unplanned expression my heart, A showcase of my commitment, my drive. Things look better weekly, while becoming more difficult at the same time. If anything though, my mind will break before my body…

Question:

What is your avatar? Is it your TSA body scan picture or something?

220 huh? a couple weeks and you’ll be as small as me

Geez Greg, his avatar is his sweat angel.

All brawn, no brains, huh?

I tease, you know that :*

…uhm, hi A
This is like, the longest contest prep ever. Get on stage already!

  1. Nikki is right, that is my sweat angel, made on my leg day. My bro took a pic of me laying on the ground, resting from my leg press dropset, and i laughed, then we noticed the sweat angel, so he took another pic, but of the angel, and i liked it. Wallah!

  2. You dont lose 60lbs in a couple months and look totally fine. THe contest prep started when it did cuz i needed it to. Funny thing is, Stu is saying we may need even more time, as i dont want to rush anything. i believe i said it in here, but i may have to aim for the May competition. I cant say im excited about that, i also believe ive been dropping for too long and as im feeling my earlier, extremely sturdy stance beginning to falter. Oh well.

Keep up the solid work on your prep! My campus’ gym was closed on Jan 2, for no reason just because it is winter break and I guess they think that nobody is going to want to work out? So I feel you on being extremely pissed. Luckily my brother has an ok power rack in his garage, so I was able to get a session in

Hey man, just wondering why you leave deadlift as your last back exercise?

Maybe if you made it your first exercise your grip would be better, well thats the case for me anyways.

I was teasing about the contest prep, I started in what, November or December?
…And my competition is in July. But it’s better starting early than rushing and have that added stress.

You’re doing great Akuma, doing all the right things. Persevere, you’re a champion before you even started.

Eh, because in all honesty Deadlifting is the last thing on my priorities. I will take a good set of BB rows over a good set of DLs anyday.

1H BB shrugs (done at your side)- 10/95x3

Followed by 15min of Steady state. I only did 15min today because i was basically late on everything. Was at a club downtown (Had Karaoke) til 1, got home at 2, and woke up at 10. Set my day back big time, as in Sitting at 5pm and only have Breakfast and my workout nutrition in me. So im essentially compromising with my body, i demanded a lot out of it in my routine, and spared it some of the cardio. I believe it was the best move. Now i plan veg out and play video games while continuously munching to meet my daily needs…

So, today i was faced with a conundrum. It was technically supposed to be a legs day, but as i mentioned earlier, Tomorrow i am leaving for San Francisco, and plan to walk the entirety of the city (literally we are walking to everything). I thought, “Hmm, Shall i smash legs before doing this…Nahh.” So i opted to basically skip it. Am i happy with skipping legs, no not at all, but i guarantee i’d have been pissed at myself for doing them when i was actually walking for hours a day. SO, on to

Standing Calf raises- 15/405, 15/450, 15/495, 12/495+2P in my hands --DROPSET-- 10/300, 10/225

Followed by 30min of Steady state elliptical work.

I cant explain it, but it feels kinda like im…breaking through barriers. It seems like im going heavier on some exercises…seems like im repping more on others…

Pushing harder knows no bounds, it has no limits- You Simply can or you wont. It feels like its not so much the ability to progress, but rather the allowance of said progression. I want to grow, i want to get bigger, i want to get leaner…it seems my body is simply obliging to both now…

Hey man, im sure stu knows best but y not take a few weeks increasing carbs and gaining a little then begin cutting again and go for the may show. have some fast food, cruise a little then continue. maybe it will help with maintaining muscle and then eventually fat loss?! just a thought.

Hey man, I don’t think you post in your AKuma thread anymore, cause of the ‘haters’, but I’m still curious as to how your recomp is going?

Well just got back in from vacation, so im afraid im not ready just yet to check my weight on the scale. Prior to going, i was sitting at 219 (down from 265) and feeling pretty good. Still got a little to go (15lbs?) but we will see how that turns out. Game face back on, getting back into full swing of things, and ready to tear shit up in the gym (Got into town yesterday at 1am, waking up and being at work by 11, and Back/bis afterwards).

Well i had to make up for lost time…i had to rebuild the wreckage done to myself this week…i had to somehow push myself to a new level in hopes to counter the damage, or better yet utilize said consumed energy…

Lat Pulldown- 15/100x2, 12/150, 10/200, 8/250, 8/250+45lb plate

BB row- 8/135, 8/225, 8/315, 8/405

Deadlift (rack pulls)- 10/135, 10/225, 10/315, 8/405, 8/495, 6/545

Alternating curls- 12/20, 8/30, 8/40, 8/50, 8/60

Pinwheel curls- 8/30, 8/40, 8/50, 8/60, 8/70, 7/80

High 1h cable curls- 8/40, 8/50, 8/60, 8/70

Followed of course by 30min of steady state Elliptical work. Also, during my actual weightlifting, i tried to not use Straps until the last sets, to get as much forearm work as possible.

I walked into the gym knowing something terrific had to be done…I closed my eyes to pain, turned a deaf ear upon the muffled grunts created and lost in the midst of swinging weights…I now sit- back stiffened, hands throbbing and calloused to the near point of bleeding, eyes drooping- waiting for tomorrow. Waiting…for another day to put myself through this again. Waiting…just waiting…

Strength…what is it? You pick that up, you are THAT strong. Is it that simple? You picked THAT up last week, but can you pick THIS up this week? Can you dig a little deeper? You picked THAT up weeks ago, you’ve barely picked up THIS, but…but can you go further? Can you Catapult yourself into a new level?

I see Strength as layers of depth that YOU yourself draw from. There is physical, there is mental, and then there is emotional. If you can tap into the latter layers…well, you strength could be limitless.

So…why limit yourself?

You are a man of words my friend, very inspirational writing all throughout this log.

Great work on the cut buddy! 45 lbs dropped has got to feel pretty good

Delt/tris/traps

DB military- 20/35. Ended it there. A majority of the dumbbells were strewn about and misplaced, so i said fuck em.

BB Tri Press- 15/95, 15/135, 12/225, 8/315, 8/365

V-bar pressdowns (down on a double pulley)- 12/75, 10/100, 8/130

DB overhead Arc- 12/30, 10/40, 8/50, 8/60

Machine Dips- 12/225, 12/270, 12/300, 12/330

BB shrugs- 15/135, 15/225, 12/315, 12/405- And i crapped out here. My traps felt wrecked, im assuming due to my back workout the day before. Its possible i used them a bit when DLing the other day. Who knows, but either way, my traps were NOT getting to 500+ today.

So i just ended it there, and hoped on my Elliptical to do my 30min of steady state. Feeling like butt right now…

Followed of course by 30min of Elliptical work. Tired, smelly, and hungry, so i got nothing for writing today guys (i cant just take a shower and THEN write…thats…thats unethical! its gotta be right when i get home, so the passion flows). But ill get you all tomorrow!
