I wouldn’t recommend HSS-100 to anyone who’s starting out or still a beginner. I think you really need to assess where your at in your training before trying something like this.
There are plenty of other good gaining programs out there such as: westside for skinny bastards, ripptoe’s 5x5 and many other 5x5’s that work very well, search function is top right btw.
You should know that with a superset you do it immediately after the heavy lift… no rest and as for the 100 set, you can have a few rests 3-5 seconds long to build up your work capactiy, i believe its mentioned in the article. I’m going to make the assumption that your still starting out and in that case, i recommend you read the following before anything:
If however, you feel you can and should do this after making an honest self assessment, then go for it, it’s god damn hard i can tell you that and it’s not for the feint of heart. I’m now into my ninth week.
I’m aware that supersets do not include rest between the exercises, but the superset as a whole may or may not. I’ve seen them treated as circuits and with rest before doing the superset again.
There isn’t any rest regarding the special exercise, and I had read about the 100 rep set… and obviously the search engine is there.
I guess I should always assume that people think posters don’t read or search anything here.
I’ve completed several programs, and I’m familiar with the site as well as those posts.
I made the assumption you were starting out, based on the fact you posted a question about an advanced program on the beginners forum and not the BB forum and asked about rest periods involving supersets and tripples…
I believe your question is easily answered by CT 9 posts down where he says “The next two exercises are a superset (two exercises performed without rest)”
Good luck if you decide to begin the program, it’ll rip you a new…you know what, but its worth it in the end, or atleast i keep telling myself that
