So on Wednesday I am going to get 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled out, they haven’t grown in yet, so I will be put to sleep and get them removed. After that the whole week I’ll be taking Veikedin, some other pain medecine, and just resting since it’s gonna suck.
I am not allowed to eat or drink 12 hours before I get them out!
I don’t want to sound like a baby, but currently I’m getting around 4200 calories a day, how am I supposed to not eat for 12 hours and then after that I won’t want to eat since I can’t chew, probably just liquids… What do I do?
I feel like I’m gonna die if I don’t eat for 3 hours, what about 12 hours? I’m gonna pass out lol.
Any way to shrink my stomach so at least I don’t feel as hungry, do I just eat very little for a couple days prior? I just started the Rippetoe workout, this is gonna suck I’m making some pretty good newbie gains IMO.
And if you anyone ever had their wisdom teeth pulled out PLEASE don’t share lol, I don’t really want to think about it :).
Just sleep the 12 hours beforehand. Going without a meal for 12 hours is gonna do less to impede your progress than the whole week afterward when you won’t want to eat. There’s gonna be times when you just can’t help but miss something in your routine, don’t worry about it.
And if you really want to try the bcaa’s, make sure you ask the doctor. Going under is serious and can interact with anything in your blood stream. It would be stupid to mess something up over 12 hours of no food.
What time of day is your appointment? If it’s in the AM you’re likely to only be going 2-4 hours longer without food than you usually would do to sleep. You don’t wake up every two hours to eat do you? God I hope not. Even if not, a 12 hour fast isn’t going to kill your metabolism, worry more about post surgery nutrition.
Nice alright cool, I will man up lol. You’re right it’s at 10:30 A.M , It shouldn’t be that bad now that I think of it, but I would have to wake up around 7:00 since it’s a far drive. Should be a breeze. Afterwards I will just make protein shakes and drink through a straw :
I’d be more concerned about taking the time after the surgery (this is SURGERY) to let your mouth heal. Getting back in the weight room and under the iron too soon is going to lead to a bloody mouth and possibly dry socket. Take it sloooooow coming back.
dont drink through a straw dude. The suction can suck the clot out of those four holes in your mouth and leave you with dry socket, Which is very painful. just warning, good luck.
I’ve had the same surgery too. Like LiftSmart, I had very little pain afterwards - more of an dull ache than anything. I was given pain pills to take, but I didn’t bother after the first couple. The swelling was the worst part for me, I looked like a fucking chipmunk for a week.
Oh, and I ripped the stitches out of one side while I was trying to eat, so yeah, take it easy on the solids.
