How Much Rest Between Sets 2x12

Hi,

I know that on the HFT training article of CW, he prescribed to use a rest time of 75s between pairings for 2x12 sets. IMO this looks just too much…Maybe thats ok for big compounds lifts such as deadlifts, but what about exercises such as side raise or leg extension for i.e?

would it be possible to perform A1-A2 and then rest or a reduced rest time between each sets?

How much rest do you guys usually take between these sets?

It depends on your abilities and your goals. Rest intervals are a factor you can manipulate in many ways to achieve different things. I rest only as much as needed to pump out the next set. But that changes if Im training for density or power or strength. Do a little research and experiment with different rests.

I’d lower it to 60 seconds myself. At 2x12 you’re looking for metabolic adaptations, so less rest is better.

He may have put 75 seconds because most people aren’t in good enough condition to do less, though. If you can handle it, take it down a little though.

A1 Front Squat 2x12
A2 Deadlift 2x12
B1 Decline Bench press 2x12
B2 1 arm DB row 2x12
