How much fat on T-Dawg 2.0? what are best sources?
bump, bump, bump
OK, let me try but I’m sure I’ll get corrected if I’m wrong.
It isn’t so much about how much fat, it has to do with the calories. If you are getting the proper amount of protein and limiting the carbs to under 100g, that doesn’t leave a lot of room for calories from fat.
As a number of people have taught me (thanks everyone) a food log will help you determine the amount of calories you are consuming on a daily-weekly basis. You can then modify your intake to get the desired results. That is, reduce that number (lets say 2500 kcals per day) by 500 so you can lose 1-2 pounds per week.
Like I said, if I got this wrong, someone is going to correct me but I think I got that right.
thanks, I am keeping a log. I run around 2000 cal, 70/100 carb, 300 prot., Just cant figure how much fat I should be intaking/supplementing. I know that too low of fat intake can have some devestating effects.
i’ve read that typically fat intake should be bodyweight x.5 grams - so for me i weigh 240 which would leave with 120g to consume. the breakdown for this should be split in three, so 33% from each source. I get my fat from these sources - Olive Oil, Omega 3 caps, Walnuts/pistachios, Red Meat, some hard cheese, I also use a couple of egg yolks daily. Fat intake and balance is important on a hormonal level to make sure the body is producing it’s Test…other areas are obvious.
In order for a low carb diet to work you need to include fat sources, red meat, eggs, cheese, etc?otherwise you?ll be on a low fat, high protein diet and you?re hungry will never be satisfied. Eat fat. Fat is essential for reproduction, for the regeneration of healthy tissues and for maintaining ideal body composition.
All response are great here as of yet.
Just wanted to say that they got you on the right track. Usually it is said that fat intake shoulkd be between .4-.6g per lb of bodyweight. This dependent on current carb intake. If you are going low the go high on the fat end etc…
As far as figuring how much room you have left. Just take your carb and pro. gram multiply by four. This will give you their k/cals. Then take what is left and divide it by 9, this will give you the amount of grams of fat you have room for.
Hope this Breif little spew helps.
