How did you overcome pain?

Hi guys, I’m working out but lately I’ve been having pain in the center/left abdomen, just under the left rib. I’ve had a gastroscopy and colonoscopy and both are fine, I’ve had an ultrasound and tests and everything seems fine. Yet I can’t lift weights and I can’t train properly anymore. I can’t understand what’s really going on. I was wondering if anything like this has ever happened to you in your life, and how I can find out. Also, how I can maintain a light workout so as not to lose too much shape.

I mostly feel the pain a little after eating, as if this part of my body were inflamed and painful. In this case, I can’t even follow a high-calorie diet, and therefore I can’t gain weight.

How long have you been lifting?

Age? Height and weight?

What did you lifting look like before this issue arose?

Any food in particular causing the pain? Is there any food that doesn’t cause the pain? What kind of pain? Sharp, dull ache, burning?

When you say “working out” what does that mean? Like what do the sessions look like? What’s your condition and athletic background?

Pain is a message. What is it telling you?

Sometimes you just have to go with it.

If its pain indicative of illness or injury, get on the road to treatment.

If its chronic or reoccurring due to previous injury or condition you have to evaluate and decide how much pain is worth how much gain on a per exercise/session basis, or if its even possible.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I bodybuild three times a week for about an hour-long sessions.
So my workouts are light, also because I never overdo it with weights.

I eat a bit of everything!
I’ve always avoided gluten because I have a history of gluten intolerance, but I’ve never had any pain in the last five years.

Now that I think about it, I started training my abs a little more intensely, three times a week, a year ago.

But I don’t think that could have caused the problem.

The pain/discomfort/pressure I often feel is exactly as described.

Underneath, deep in my left rib, just in the center left area of ​​my body, where the rib curves, as highlighted here.

Usually, if I’m overdoing it with weights or doing the wrong movement, I’ll feel the pain, while if I rest and lift weights easily, I feel it less.

Since you’ve had all the imaging, and based on the symptoms you describe, I’ll go out on a limb and say it sounds like a stitch (diaphragm spasms). The frequency and duration seem a little odd, though, so I’m not saying that with supreme confidence.

If you don’t already track all of your food, you could try that and see is you see a specific food that is aggravating it.

So this seems to be all the symptoms compiled.
It also shows you’ve had 2 scopes and and ultrasound none of which are atypical per your words.
Have you had any other imaging done in this area?
You mention eating/training aggravate the area. Have you tracked what you have eaten that aggravates it? What foods aggravate it?
What direction have the Dr’s given you? I didn’t see a continued course of action listed here.
Based on the limited info here I’ll give you advice from personal experience while my wife tried to figure out her headaches.
Start a diary. List everything you do, eat, lift, sleep. All of it. Note when you are having the pain. It’s a lot to do but it’s the only way to shed more light on what is happening.
My wife’s journey with this ended when she figured out it was the birth control that was messing with her. Along the way she also found out that she had a massive fibroid in her uterus that was pushing on her bladder and causing issues but also pushing on some nerves that effected her tail bone and gave her tremendous discomfort. She is now 4 days out from surgery to remove her uterus/fibroid but already has relief on her tail bone
Long story short here. You need to gather as much info as you can. My experience with Dr’s is that you have to be your own advocate. You have to take control of these issues. Do not rely solely on them or you will most likely be let down.

Most likely a musculoskeletal issue, in my naive opinion.

How is your back? I would recommend a check up by a good physiotherapist. A bulging/herniated disc can give rise to strange phenomenon (though the thoracic spine is “said” to be stable). Also, costovertebral joint dysfunction (rib lock) is a mysterious act of nature.

You have absolutely nothing to lose by having a proper exam done by a physio. Please report back what they said.

Ma allo stesso tempo.. capite? Non posso abbandonare l’allenamento.
Incrementerò a 4 giorni a settimana, ma calerò il carico giornaliero, quindi farò 45 minuti al giorno.
Inoltre, non credo possa dipendere dalla creatina, perchè ho sempre assunto meno di 3 grammi, sempre fatto 1 mese on/off, e attualmente assumo solo 1 grammo nei giorni che mi alleno.

This sounds like a gallbladder issue. Since you eat a bit of everything, do you know what your overall fat intake is like?

I used to get pains like that until I cut down overall fat intake for quite some time. If I start creeping up again, I get those same familiar pains.
