I have noticed increasing hip pain when either in a squatting position (whether with of without weights as i get closer and below parallel)as well as when i am sitting and go to cross one leg over the top of the other. The pain is right at the side of the hip where the i assume the head of the femur is. based upon what i have been reading it seems similar to either what is called snapping hip or trochaentric bursitis.
Does anyone have any experience with such an issue and what worked for them?
As of now i am going off the assumption that my glutes are shut down and that i have poor mobility at the hips so i strated doing all the stretches/exercises to address that and it generally feels better but just want to make sure i am on the right track.
Also, if i wanted to go to a doctor to rule out something more serious (like a torn labrum at the hip. although both hips have been bugging me my left is FAR worse than the right; i cannot cross it over the other leg when sitting without lending a hand to it. I smacked it super hard a few months back and do not know whther the muscles just shut down afterwards or if something got injured) which type of physician should i be looking for?
thanks
