Damn you think you could get 100lbs out of wraps??
belts and wraps id think 100lbs would be top limit.

Belt adds about 30kg/66lbs to my front squats, and about 50kg/133lbs to my deads… so Im assuming similar to backs and then wraps aswell on top… or am I being a nut job?

On the front squat thing - do you do oly or arms crossed? I jkept failing around the 110kilo mark with arms crossed as i dropped the bar, now i use oly and hold the bar with maybe 3 fingers from each hand with a thumbless grip and its a lot more secure. helped to 150kilos recently.

My legs are fine today… WAT THE FUCK.
Yeah I do the arms crossed method. I tried Oly(clean grip) and it hurt my not so flexible wrists. I know it gets better with time but I just usually go with arms crossed BBer stule
If you have flexibility issues, foam roll the fuck out of you rofrearms with a tennis ball before you start and it will be fine. Oly style is tonnes easier that ars crossed. imo arms crossed should only be used if injured or you lack the shoulcer flexibility to do it due to sheer mass.

it didnt happen friends.

Had a bit of a mad session with squats… The bar felt like a fucking feather basically.

before tonight id lifted 180kgs in a belt… hit 182.5/400lbs for a double beltless. 2 TINY tech changes and I destroy ever squat PB I have.

C+P with 185 will happen soon.
STance to wide and no hip drive/10
Care to elaborate further… its ten times better than this - Scott Taggart - YouTube

True, if you try a closer stance you should get a better drive out of the bottom and as you ascend you need to try and drive your chest into the bar and your hips forward and back under.

At the minuite your using a pretty wide stance which is weaker out of the bottom of a deep raw squat and you are also driving your hip up and back which is a weak position for a raw squat.
So basically your saying, im set up for suited squating?

here 9 reps in 1.57 with 185 weighing 180.

Seriously good effort mate. Seemed like each C+P was near a max effort attempt (no offence), solid to perform what seemed like a 3RM, 11 times. worse ratio than Widow makers.

Out of interest, what is your 1RM?

Has anyone ever done front squats with wraps tide around the bar, and holding the wraps? Thats how I always used to front squat.

I know what your saying no offense taken! those most I can power clean (always trained axle so didn’t practice) at the time is 215. Most I ever pressed on an axle is 250 when I weighed 215. Right now max is about 220ish

if the front squat is uncomfortable at 225 or over, it’s got to be flexibility and positioning rather than anything else… i got 225 for a double last week (first time doing front squats as a main lift) with no discomfort whatsoever, and i’m only 195 so there’s not a ton of meat on the shoulders.

I shall attempt to beat you next week some time. then maybe shoot for 90kilos in 90seconds as that what my comp is on the log.

the way my CG press went tonight, the press should be a piece of piss, just need to rely on the lungs for the cleans.

Fresh grilled “15”! ounce steak coming right up…

Tried the C&P again today after getting a new DL max (430… I know that’s kinda weak but it’s over double my BW so was ok with it)

Well I only got 19 reps! Fuck I was pissed cause I thought it was 20 (watched the video 3 times trying to find another rep in there somewhere lol) damn it!!!
gregron wrote:
16 is totally weak! You gotta get at least 17 to be considered really awesome at this. I think that’s the cut off… Sucky < 16 < Awesome! Hahahahah! Lol

Good job man. You said you had more in the tank? Get some more next time! :)
Yeah, mostly I just wanted to make sure I could sustain a solid effort for the whole two minutes, I’ll keep a harder pace next time. I’d be happy with 20, and it’s definitely do-able.

good job guys! I think the first time or two you got to kind of keep a comfortable pace to give confidence to really push it the next time, get a baseline to beat.

Fastest Grace recorded- Tycen PoVey - YouTube found this video last night, shit is bananas! Fast forward a bit for the actual lifting

Hahahaha I was just giving you shit cause I think my first attempt I got 17 reps

I think 20-24 would be pretty good for a 2 minute time frame. I did my first 9 in 40 seconds then my last 10 in 80 seconds… Definitely lost some steam then. I will get 20 or more next time and after I do I’ll throw the video up here. That 19 rep video is my new motivation to not be a pussy next time and get one more damn rep

It’s funny how your mind works like that. If I’d wanted 12 and hit 16 I’d have been pumped, but since I wanted 20 I was bummed lol

^^exactly!

That is cool and all, but how about 500x23 in 55 seconds?

Come on of course Nick Best deadlifting 500 for 23 reps like its nothing is way more badass
