Here are some videos

Goldie,

These are awesome videos. I’ve honestly never seen anyone train Westside but I’ve been very curious about it.

Before we get married you’ll have to show me how to train this way.

Love, Cass

No problem Cass. You can show me that little shaky thing you do with your ass. haha

Maybe one day ill be able to put up some videos of bench.

Goldberg, I’m still wondering about that good morning.

You said yours sucks, now does that mean the weight used or the form or both?

goldie
whats with the GM? you squat during the decsent and round your back during the up phase.

doesnt look good but nice poundage never the less.

dude, that was an easy 638… holy shit.

Glute, you REALLY think if you keep your legs locked, and bend at the waist w/ that much weight your going to stay standing? No. Maybe if you 135 on the bar then you could, but you do this to balance the weight.

I can do 365, and when I come up, my back rounds just a bit. You watch any other person doing heavy good mornings their back is going to round just a bit.

Anti, he means weight.

I thought my form was really good. In one of Dave Tates articles he says that people forget that the good morning is really a builder of the entire posterior chain. You push your ass back as far as possible to recruit the glutes, hamstrings, and low back. The rule i have is that i keep the bar over the toes as much as possible. Glute baby you really gotta start kicking it on your max effort work. Form is gonna break down a tad on your last set. From Dave Tate:
Learn to sit back on your good mornings. Most people don?t realize a good morning is really a builder of the entire postier chain. When you bend over, you want to try to keep a neutral back and push the hips back so you feel the hamstrings stretch. You don?t want to just bend over because as you work up in weight the movement will turn into more of a quarter squat. This places too much stress on the spine and not enough on the hamstrings.

Thanks for replies.

Ok I’ll start doing mine more like that.
I was sorta wondering about that when I posted my thing about the weight rolling onto my neck, but didn’t make it clear enough back then.
Video really helps that.

That 638 went up like nothing, man it looked like you could have done far more.

i tried 700 but it was a no go. i set up crooked on the bar and i know that hurt me alot. i started tilting to my right. I thought i was good for 685 at least so thats what i based my percentages off of for this cycle. The new videos are up.

Sweet videos man! Let’s see some more!

Just try Goldberg’s form on the GM to understand what he and Tate are talking about. If you don’t push your ass out and keep the bar over your toes, not only will you not progress in weight, you’ll tip over. People that don’t understand the proper form are missing out on one of the best exercises they’ll ever encounter. Sit back, feel your hams contract, use your glutes.

Goldie looks great.
Any plans on a visit to Westside?

Nice ass on the GM’s by the way!

Honestly when i graduate i want to move to ohio get a job there and lift at westside and become the strongest motherfucker that ever lived.

Living in Ohio will make you one of the saddest fuckers that ever lived, trust me, I know from experience.

Corn, corn, corn, corn, corn, barn, corn, corn.

thats fine with me. i would elaborat but it would give people a false sense of how i really am.

My 600 box squat is up on the site. Dont start pming me telling me it was ugly. I already know.

That box squat is sick. My second favorite, right behind the good morning and just ahead of the Goldberg Nut Pulls. The Good Morning is my favorite, because nobody ever does them at the gym, so I didn’t have a clue on form until I saw the video.

Also, I don’t know what Rumbach is talking about. Columbus, where Westside is at, is a million+ city with NCAA football champs and NHL. And you got two other million+ cities within two hours with NFL, MLB and NBA (well, if you count the Bengals and the Cavs). Now London, where Elite is, is a ways out from the city. But some like it that way. C’mon up Goldberg, somebody’s high school strength program is about to get a whole lot stronger. Gotta keep that Buckeye Pipeline churnin’.

Goldberg, I hope you and Landon don’t think of these videos as a thankless job. They are very cool. Thanks guys.

Damn nice videos!

Thanks!

2 questions regarding the box squat:

a. why arent you opening your knees (maybe you need to point your toes more outward? ? if not why not)
b. why such a wide stance? this is how a box squat ME is suppose to be? or just a variation?
