Was wondering if anybody has used the Hatfield bar or Safety Squat bar and what were their opinions of it. Particularly interested in how well it balances on your shoulders and whether having your arms outstretched helps in the motion.
There’s a pic of it at www.drsquat.com and go to the training equipment section.
Also shown was something called the Colorado Power Maker, I think, which looked real interesting. Developed for strength and explosive speed and power, mostly in regards to football, but seems to cover all main pushing motions- Squat, Clean and Jerk and would be good for any sport. Has anybody ever used this device and know whether it’s any good??
We use the bar extensively at my gym. Actually the bar works the upper back more than the quads. One of our favorite exercises is to susupend the safety bar in chains, step under it and perform good mornings. The bar is a very good tool, especially for powerlifters. Check out my site @ www.msnusers.com/alpinestrength for more info on the safety squat bar.
i just bought a safety squat bar and its great.isolates the thighs more than regular bar because it forces you to stand straight because it pulls you forward.you can spot yourself also which is great.you dont have to hold the bar and you can hold the rack to assist for a spot if needed.
