Has anyone had any experience using the Top Squat as shown
http://www.topsquat.com ? It looks similar to a safety squat bar. I was wondering how it compares performance wise to the safety squat bar? I was considering purchasing a Safety Squat bar but this product may be a cheaper alternative. How does it perform with heavy loads and how does it perform for good mornings?
I don’t know anything about it, but I know the squat rx guy talked about it in one of his videos.

I’ve never used the top squat but i’ve been told by two people that have used it that there can be some issues with the bar shifting from side to side since its obviously not fixed to the barbell like a SSB.
I purchased it after I had shoulder surgery.
For it’s price, it adds a worthwhile variation to the squat. But as robo1 said, I’ve had some issues with shifting. I think it depends on the thickness and knurling of the bar. I’ve never used it with much over 315.
Safety Squat Bar is very different. The bar has a camber in it that forces you forward so this changes the load distribution. And no, you can’t do good mornings with the Top Squat.
