Hanging Leg Raises

Whenever i do hanging leg raises from a bar, i feel the top of my thighs tighten up. what is this that is happening? what can i do to fix this?

thanks in advance
Tom

I hear doing them in the power rack helps

lol.

I would imagine the tightening of the top of your thighs are rec fem and illiopsoas contracting.

It is normal if you are not used to those types of movements. If you find that your hip flexors are actually geting tight, than you can just stretch them out at the end of your workout.

hanging leg raises are a great AB exercise. I am doing them right now.

This is just a guess but are you lowering your legs completely at the bottom? Try relaxing your legs at the bottom before pulling back up.

I feel that my legs tighten up on the concentric portion of the lift. Its actually the very top of my leg, only the area about half-way above my knee to where my leg meets my stomach.
